About this sitter

We are a non smoking retired couple, who enjoy traveling, gardening and love dogs. We are looking for long term house sitting, preferably in France, Italy, and the United States. We are willing and able to maintain the homeowners' residences, and gardens. We also would enjoy taking care of the family pets. We would be willing to sit summer or winter.

Why they want to house sit

Having just sold our home, we would like to incorporate some travel in our future, before establishing another household. House sitting seems the perfect opportunity. We have been to Europe several times, and appreciate the culture, and the people. We would have no problem adapting to the lifestyle, and would look forward to doing so. We are particularly interested in travel to France and Italy, where we have been several times. We also look forward to house sits in the United States, where we have traveled often, and would like to visit parts we haven't experienced.

Their experience

We completed a three month house sit in Brittany, France,last fall, where we took care of four rental properties, along with two pigs, three sheep, and two cats. It was a wonderful experience, and we had the opportunity to enjoy the company of the many guests. We are now doing a sit in Maryland, which lasts until April 10. We are tending to a wonderful dog, and loving the fun of having a pet for a while. From here we are going to England, and will be there until mid August, taking care of two dogs, and maintaining the property. We are available after that, and hope to do another sit in France or Italy. We are looking for long term sits, but are open to others.

What can they bring to the assignment

We can bring our experience garnered over a lifetime. We are responsible, trustworthy, and look forward to maintaining someone else's home, and treat it with the respect we would want someone to treat ours. We have had several dogs and would really enjoy that interaction We have 25 years experience running our own business, attending and exhibiting at major trade shows in Canada and the US; and representing US. companies in Canada. I also have experience in the education field, having taught for several years. We are enthusiastic and look forward to the challenges that lay ahead.
