About this sitter
I am a retired nurse, who has traveled the world on medical missions and with church building teams. I have had pets since childhood, and in the last twenty years raised several dogs. Our household currently has a lab and a cockapoo. I love to travel and am eager to experience new places. House sitting is a great way to live, not just visit, these places.

I am eager to see the world and realize travel is a personal growth experience. House sitting means living and learning new cultures intimately.

Yes. Have cared for dogs, cats, chickens, gardens, and have high standards regarding housekeeping. I have done a house sit in Canada, taking care of two cats and an interesting home on a frozen lake. Also, just took care of two dogs house sitting in Ireland.
So far in 2017 I have a house with five huskies in France. and one in Virginia with three English Setters, several homing pigeons and bees.
I have done a sit in Ravenna, Italy with two dogs and a cat in 2018.
Also took care of two dogs in Westhampton, N.Y. and in 2019 in Costa Rica two dogs and one cat.
What can they bring to the assignment
I am adaptable, hard working, sensitive to my surroundings and others. Animals seem to gravitate to me, sensing my love for them. I love new experiences and would be comfortable in a city center, a rural hamlet, or home out in the boonies.

Everything is in good hands with Barbara
Barbara immediately set me at ease on the phone and when I met her I knew she would be wonderful and I could confidently get on the plane. I hadn't had a stranger stay in my house before (brand new to Mind My House) and I couldn't quite believe that it would work out. I took a leap of faith and luckily my home and doggies fell into Barbara's extremely capable and professional hands. It was kind of like having Mary Poppins show up (hope you don't mind the reference Barbara, I think Mary Poppins is awesome). Highly recommended!

What a great experience!
Barbara was incredible. Absolutely reliable and 100% efficient. She took a great care of the house, our two dogs and the cat for a whole month. She is the sweetest! She even cooked us a lovely meal at our return and now that my daughter had a baby she handmade a little blanket and ship it over to us. She is the best.

Highly Recommend
Barbara stayed at our house and took care of our three English Setters, loft of homing pigeons, and honey bees. As soon as I met her, I instinctively felt that she was completely trustworthy and capable. She is calm, level headed and able to deal with living in a rural setting. She took excellent care of all. I was completely comfortable with her being here and would highly recommend her for any house/pet sit in any setting.
