About this sitter
Up to September I shall be based in Wales, so happy to hear from home owners in Europe and the UK. From September on I'll be heading out to SE Asia.
Hello, my name is Jason, and I'm a British national. I like longer housesits and have done several of these in Asia and the UK (please see testimonials below). I'm a former civil servant of almost 20 years experience, a mature and confident individual, I'm able to deal with situations and complications. My ideal housesit would be of a lengthy duration but I am open to all offers. I like both rural and urban settings. I am very comfortable with domestic pets especially cats and dogs. I am a cyclist and permission to borrow a bicycle would be helpful in order that I might get around to local stores for provisions, where appropriate. I am also a vegan, non-smoker and non-drinker.

Why they want to house sit
I like being with animals, especially dogs and cats and have yet to meet any that I haven't liked! I am an occasional writer (self-published) so a setting suitable for creatives would be welcome. I also enjoy the lifestyle I lead at the moment where I can meet good people, cute pets and experience a new and interesting location as I make my way in the world.

Jason is all you could want in a cat and house sitter!
Jason came to hang out with our feline house mate over a long weekend and he was incredible! Before and during his visit he was thoughtful, considerate and reliable. Beforehand, he checked in and asked thoughtful questions. During, he sent us lovely updates on how Mishka was, which we really appreciated. It was clear that he was very attentive and worked hard to create a bond with Mishka - who was very chill when we came home, a telltale sign! The house was left clean and tidy. He even offered to wash and dry his bed sheets before he left (although we felt that was way too much of an ask given all he'd already done)! Jason worked hard to cultivate a relationship based on trust and communication throughout our interactions and we couldn't have asked for more. Returning sit
Jason returned to help me with Grogo and the flat when I was away for 5 weeks. As a 5-star sitter, he kept my greedy cat happy and healthy, and flat secure while I was away. We kept in regular communication as usual, and he was very resourceful and adaptable if I needed extra help with deliveries or change in feeding instructions for Grogo. Always a Pleasure
...to have Jason cat sit the kitties! Exactly a year after he last sat for me, Jason happened to be in the vicinity (read: South East Asia) and offered to sit again for me for three weeks. As always Jason is extremely communicative and offers constant updates so you can be rest assured that your pets will be in good hands. Jason genuinely loves cats (and dogs!) and spoke fondly of Donnie and Jet while I was away. With him I am at ease and am less anxious about going away, also a great friend!

Seamless and enjoyable housesit with Jason!
Jason is a fantastic and reliable house sitter that I would recommend to anyone. He took care of our beloved dog Didi for about 10 days. Our dog fell in love with Jason and would follow him around, sleep in his room, and have couch cuddles during TV time. Jason is clearly great with animals. He understands they need time and care to bond, pretty cool! He is also an exceptionally responsible house guest. Our home was treated with respect and we returned from our trip to find it very tidy. We made contact with Jason several months before our trip and once he accepted the position he kept in touch providing us with information regarding his flight schedule and arrival date and times. We had the pleasure of meeting Jason before we left for our overseas trip, he stayed with us for 3-4 nights prior to our departure Jason is a kind, considerate man, he cared for our 2 dogs and our home for 1 month. He sent regular updates to us along with photos and videos. Our house was clean, tidy and well cared for on our return. we would happily use Jason again if he's willing to travel back to Australia.

Millie in Singapore
Jason took care of our Millie girl (3 year old cat) and a small school of pet fish for two weeks while we were away. The entire time leading up to the house/cat sit Jason was in regular contact with us and was very easy to communicate with. We had initially plans to travel for three weeks and then our dates also shifted slightly too. At each curve ball Jason was very adaptable and accommodating of the changes which we were very grateful of. While we were travelling Jason provide us with multiple pictures each day, and it was one of the highlights of the morning for us to see what Millie had been up to each day! Like most of us seeking pet sitting services, our fur baby Millie and her welfare means the absolute world to us, so we were delighted to have someone take such good care of her. Even though she is very reserved with new people, she appeared to develop a healthy tolerance of a new human in her territory and I can only say that it was due in large part to Jason being very patient and understanding of her! :-) Highly recommended!

Easy, wonderful experience
Jason watched our cats and home for two weeks and he made the time extremely easy. We didn't worry at all while we were traveling, which was such a relief! He made sure he understood everything well, communicated with any questions while we were away, and sent us cute update pictures. He was also super helpful in meeting with another house sitter to get her set up when we ended up extending our trip. We would very happily welcome Jason back to our home and know we were leaving it in good hands!

Experienced house-sitter and great company
Jason looked after my playful ginger cat, Grogo and my flat for 4 weeks. Jason is a six star sitter, helping me keep my cheeky cat company and flat secure. He is responsible, mature and calm which really helped Grogo. And through regular video and messages updates, I can see Grogo loves him! Jason walked Grogo as instructed and interacted well with the young fella who is always needing human company. I hope Jason found the sit enjoyable, be it location wise and the amenities and attractions at this leafy suburb. I would highly recommend Jason, he is trustworthy, helpful, kind, responsive and easy going company. Jason looked after my 3 dogs , boerboel Kingston, Pitbull Indie & thai mix rescue Lily for two weeks while I was on business trip and was fantastic! He sent daily reports and photos / video’s of them which really put me at ease being away for so long. His communication was great throughout, he let me know everything what was going on at my house with pool cleaner etc. I wish my Lily could write review too because her actions speak volumes! She was loving her twice a day long beach walks with Jason and I bet she was sad to see him leave. I would recommend Jason to any other dog owner in a heart beat.

I think my cats like Jason more than me now....
This was my first time opening up my home to a stranger (whom I now call my friend) and going with Jason eased any worries I had and he proved to be the best (hu)man for the job. Jason is extremely responsive, humorous, kind, empathetic and very considerate, something quite rare in this day and age. He sent me photos of the cats daily and gave me detailed updates on what they were up to, in fact he probably spent more time with them than I did! They clearly were in very good company because one of my cats Jet who had been balding around her belly seemed to have grown a slightly thicker coat too, if this isn't a miracle I don't know what is. Jason left the house in excellent condition and even made sure I had clean sheets to come home to because god forbid I'd even have the strength to lift a toothbrush after 37 hours of traveling. If you would like someone who will make you feel at ease with the entire process from start to finish, your pets and home will be in good hands with Jason.

Practical and disciplined.
Jason house sat and took care of my 15 plus cats and a shy rescue dog for 3 weeks in October 2022. In that time Jason kept me regularly updated with photos and videos and I had complete peace of mind while I was away that he was a very practical and disciplined pet carer. Maloo my dog received multiple walks each day and upon my return could see that she was looking more svelte, which was desperately needed. House sitting Minnie Mouse
Jason came to my house for about 5 days over the Christmas period . He was very kind to Minnie and did every thing that I asked him to do . he also kept me in touch with his travel movements before coming and was absolutely punctual. Jason is the ideal pet/house sitter!
This is our first experience with finding a pet/house sitter and we are so grateful that Jason was able to care for our dogs for three weeks this summer. Jason came the night before to familiarise himself with the dogs and our home, and we left the next day feeling reassured that they were left in safe hands. He was in constant contact with us while we were out of the country and we had no worries while we were away. Upon return we were delighted to find that our dogs were relaxed and happy and had clearly been well cared for. Our home was left clean and basically as we had left it. Great, trustworthy house sitter
Jason was great at contact before the sit, he seemed really sensible and trustworthy before we even met. On arrival he asked important questions about the care of my dogs and house and was great with the dogs and children while I was sorting the last bits out before we left. MindMyHouse (and my Garden)
Jason rallied to a call for help with our overgrown garden and after just one week renovated a garden jungle into a pristine walled garden where it is now a pleasure to sit and sup a glass of wine or two. Hopefully he can return towards the end of the summer and put our gaden into hibernation!! Very friendly, nothing was too much trouble and he made sure each small project was 100% completed. Totally Recommend

Very conscientious and caring guy!
Jason came to look after my fur babies recently, he arrived on time and was really helpful in my last minute packing to rush out the door! While I was away he communicated well with me even when there was a slight problem with my electricity. I'm really grateful he was able to support me when I was so far away. Total Commitment to the Pets and the care of the house
Our house sit was for almost three weeks, in a rural location with very little public transport. Jason kept in touch regularly before taking up the house sit, giving me peace of mind, as we had actually been let down for this house sit (and a previous one) and was very worried that we would be let down again. Although we didn't have much time together before we left for our holiday, from the correspondence and initial meeting it was clear that the dogs and the house would be in very good hands. Jason was all about ensuring that the dogs were well cared for, walked and had their normal routine followed closely. I think he was particularly taken with Tucker and Phoebe, and they with him. We were pleased to hear that Jason had actually managed to get out to see a bit of the countryside and hadn't been too bored with the setting, as he doesn't drive and borrowed my husband's pushbike. We were a little concerned that he would go stir crazy just being in the company of the dogs, but he managed to meet a number of our neighbours who definitely warmed to him. Would have absolutely no hesitation in strongly recommending Jason as an honest, reliable and caring person. We hope he will stay in touch and perhaps be available to sit for us again in the future.

2 months Bali
Jason came for a 2 months assignment in my house in rural east Bali... A very hard housesit because he had 4 dogs and 5 cats in his care. Jason did a great job with the animals, took them on long walks, cooked fish and rice for them and even managed to win the trust of our little Alfie, an old rescue dog that has been abused and has tryst issues. I am very grateful for him staying with the animals when a big earthquake hit our island and things got very scary. Jason looked after our house and two dogs for a fortnight (April 19 to May 3 2018) at a rather isolated village on the outskirts of Chiang Mai. The dogs took to Jason straight away when he arrived and we had no qualms about leaving them in his care. The house was as clean and tidy when we returned as when we left, Jason had even washed his bedding !! Any communication we had with him was answered swiftly and to the point. Easy going, reliable, friendly house/pet sitter
Jason lived with myself and my border collie for two and a half months at the beginning of 2018. He walked and entertained her while I was at work/away on trips. He was always exquisitely polite and respectful of the shared space, got on very well with the dog and was 100 percent reliable in looking after her, and was always more than willing to pitch in around the house without my asking. Long term Housesit
We were away for 2 months, so we were a little concerned about leaving our pets for so long. Jason looked after our challenging house and gardens, 2 dogs and 2 cats plus numerous fish, really well. Worry Free Holiday with Jason at the Helm
Jason house sat our Chiang Mai, Thailand home for a bit more than three weeks in September, 2017 Our home is relatively maintenance free but our two dogs, one cat and fourteen chickens are not. Jason took exemplary care of our animals which include an elderly female dog with health issues, a nine month old Jack Russell with endless energy and a penchant for being a bit naughty and an aloof but quite friendly cat. Our young Jack Russell was the most work for Jason as "Louis" (Or as Jason calls him: "Lord Louis") gets bored easily and needs walks, visits with his dog chums, and just generally a lot of attention. Oh yeah, our chickens. Jason very patiently fed and watered our 14 hens and retrieved eggs daily from the hen house. He let the girls go "walkabout" every afternoon and became expert at herding them back into their home. Jason also undertook the less than pleasant job of cleaning the hen house. Thanks Jason! Jason gave us regular, detailed weekly updates and we felt confident that our home and animals were in good hands. Our return confirmed this feeling. I highly recommend Jason as a house sitter if you are lucky enough to have him available when you need him.

A true animal lover and honest, mature, well-mannered and tidy guest
Jason was our first encounter with housesitting and we couldn’t have had a better start. Jason is Great house sitter!
Jason looked after my apartment and young Golden Retriever for two weeks while I was out of the country. I was very pleased to return to find my house in the condition I left it in. Jason had clearly looked after Primo very well and he was healthy and happy on my return. Hello, Blaze and I invited Jason to stay and watch our 2 cats and condo for a 6 week period in June/July 2016, a 2 week period in March 2017, and we are looking forward to his stay with our cats this June/July for another 6 week period. Our cats have some dietary restrictions and one of them is very timid, therefore requires a little more time and care. While we were away Jason kept us well informed with emails and pictures regarding the cats and our home. Jason is a very caring person who truly cares for our cats. The house was well kept and clean.
