About this sitter

Me, my husband and the cat have recently moved to Southern Spain. As I have realized how difficult it is to find somebody who loves cats, I thought I´ll offer my services as well.
I am (was?) a zoologist, have worked with seals, bats, gannets, stone martens; I have also nearly always had a terrarium with some small inhabitants (snakes, mice, lizards etc).
Of course I love and can handle dogs as well, only think that there are enough dog-lovers around, so you won't need especially me.
 Last summer (2010) I sucessfully raised four little swifts I found on the street.

Why they want to house sit

I know how desperate you can get, if you have to go away for a time and don't have anybody to look properly after your animals.
As I have only recently moved to Spain, I would like to get to know more of the area.

Their experience

I have looked after the house of my parents and their black crow, while they were travelling for three months. During my study I have lived in NZ at the Cape Kidnapper´s gannet Colony in a remote area and took care of gannets and tourists.
March 2012: I just came back from my first cat-sit and I think both me and the cat had a good time. The owners can give you a reference.

What can they bring to the assignment

I speak German, English, Spanish (not perfect, but understandable), some school French, can handle all sorts of animals (I think, at least after a short introduction), I am reliable, flexible, can apdapt to different places.
Of course I would take care of your animals and your home as if they were my own.
I am only ayailable for short-term sitting up to two weeks, as I don't want to leave my husband and my cat for too long.
I don't have a car.
