What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

I'd prefer if the housesitter(s) spent most of the time at home, so my dog Meg is not left too long on her own.
I also would like it if she gets a walk or swim most days.



I also have two cats.
and 4 chickens

please water indoor plants and if needed mow the lawns

What are the good features of the property and location

I live on the outskirts of Turangi, just a few kms away from the thermal pools in Tokaanu. Close to the Tongariro  river, just  a 10 min walk. Great for trout fishing! the lake is 10mins away by car.

The Tongariro National Park is very close by and is great for tramping.
The Tongariro Alpine Crossing is well known and beautiful, it is a 7h hike. Info on the website re the tracks on Tongariro National park.

And there are some lovely walks around Turangi too.

The lake is a 5min drive away, it is called Stump Bay or Waiotaka, the water is very shallow so very family friendly.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

If it gets cold, -which can happen even in the summer in Turangi- , they will need to be able to light a fire in my woodburner, as that is the only form of heating in my house. There is plenty of wood in the shed for this.
Turangi is a small quiet town, there is no public transport. I have some pushbikes (also kids bikes) available for use.
