Responsible non-smoking adult(s) who can care for — and exercise! — a Siberian Husky. We'd be happy to have a couple or individual, but not children.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Be home, or take the dog with you when you travel. The home requires little care, mostly naturally landscaped (about 30 sq feet of lawn that needs mowing no more than 2X per month).

What are the good features of the property and location

We're right in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, with hiking, skiing, mountain biking and climbing literally right out our door! In a great mountain town only an hour from Calgary International Airport, only 15 minutes from Banff National Park. We have a beautiful home with all amenities, including a fantastic mountain view. Two bedrooms, two offices, two bathrooms; great quiet spaces to write, which is what we do for a living. Nice sunny deck with BBQ. On a quiet family crescent.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Our dog is a 5-year-old rescue with some separation anxiety, and does not get along with other dogs, so must be walked on leash. He does need some extra love and attention, but once you each get to know each other, he's a sweetheart. We're trying to travel for about 4-6 weeks sometime between June 2012-January 2013, and we'd like a firm commitment from one sitter(s) for the whole time.
