About this assignment

We are a retired couple in our early 60's who love to travel. We occasionally need someone to stay in our house for 1-2 weeks to 1-2 months. We have a very clean, smokefree home. Our sitter needs to maintain the home - we like to come home to find it the way we left it.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We do not have any pets. We only need some occasional outdoor watering done (summer months only)

What are the good features of the property and location

Redding is close to two large lakes, Sacramento River (with a wonderful walking/biking trail system), Mt. Lassen, Mt. Shasta, Shasta Dam. Our weather is coolish in the winter and can be very hot (but no humidity to speak of) in the summer. Redding has wonderful restaurants, live theater, shopping, hiking, fishing. Our home is located close to the beautiful Sundial Bridge, Turtle Bay Museum among other sites.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

Ideally, you would be arriving by car as our home isn't in a walkable part of town to get to grocery stores, movies, etc. If we are not using our car for the vacation, we might be able to leave our 2012 Prius. We are also interested in doing home exchanges anywhere in the U.S. and other countries.
