What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Checking horses. Dealing with vet and possibly farrier in French if necessary. Feeding cat and chickens. Water plants. Changeover of gîtes. Cleaning of swimming pool.

What are the good features of the property and location

We are English and have been in France since 2003. We have a horse farm of 19ha/46 acres grassland and woods. We are in the middle of the Pécharmant wine growing region, a not so well known but delicious red wine. There is loads to do with small bastide towns to explore. Bergerac with it’s old part and plenty of restaurants and don’t forget all the other wine gown here. There are caves and gardens, the list goes on……… The 11 horses live out so they are easy. There may be a few gite changeovers to do (there are three of capacities min 2 – max 8) and garden and swimming pool maintenence.
Please note that the address below is Chemin de Jean but that is for GPS when you get here it is actually Chemin de Grand Jean!!

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

To speak some French. To have experience of horses. To be able to deal with vets and farriers in an emergency. To do gite changeovers. To do some light gardening and pool maintenence. Be a non smoker. To be in good health. To give references. To have a mobile phone that works in France. To have a car or be happy to walk to the bus/shops. Be able to commit several weeks for the autumn listing.
