About this assignment

I am looking for house sitters who have experience with dogs.
The dogs need 2 walks a day, one being at least an hour. They are super friendly dogs who are good with people, children and other dogs.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Looking after 2 dogs, walking and providing company for them. They are both friendly, good with other dogs and children. They can’t be left for more than 6 hours.

What are the good features of the property and location

A 2 bedroom house which is on the outskirts of Cheltenham it’s about 10 min drive/bus journey to the centre. Enclosed garden, great walks around.
In the Cotswolds, lots to do and beautiful scenery, lovely views from the master bedroom (over the roof tops.)
Well serviced by buses, village has a shop, cafe, 2 pubs, cricket ground, play area and a church.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

That the dogs need two walks a day, one walk being an hour plus, and can't be left for more than about six hours alone. Thanks

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Shurdington UK dog sit

Me and my family was looking after Luna and Darcy for almost 2weeks, and it was a good experience. Chloe was friendly, and helped us a lot regarding our travel. As Shurdington is a small village, it is definitely recommended to have a car, to explore the area, as there are wonderful and exciting things to do. The house was good, with all the necessary amenities and instructions, if we did not find something, Chloe was helpful via Whatsapp. The dogs are well behaved, they know when its food time, and if you dont know, they will let you know. Taking them for a walk az at the same time is a little tricky/ funny, because the husky has a much bigger need for a faster walk, while the pug can not keep up with the pace. However, the husky is a great running companion, and very smart, and she will appreciate the hugs and the runs. All in all staying and Chloe's was a good experience, would recommend it.

Beauty in the Cotswolds

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with two easy dogs. So many lovely areas to walk and a friendly village as well. Regular bus services made it simple to get around. Chloe made me feel welcome and relaxed straight away. I would gladly look after Luna & Darcy again.

Fabulous Dogs, relaxed housesit

This was a lovely housesit, with Chloe leaving good instructions. The house was comfortable and the dogs Darcy and Luna were so lovely and funny. Little Darcy was bossy with Luna but a sweetheart, she didn't like too much walking. Luna is gorgeous and did sit on my lap at one point! They were both very good with no problems overnight. It was a lovely relaxed time.

Looking after husky and pug

We really enjoyed our week looking after Luna and Darcy in a lovely little town in the Cotswolds with beautiful walks right on the doorstep. The dogs were very friendly and loved their walks and snuggling in the evenings watching TV. Chloe left great instructions and was easy to communicate with while away.

Lovely dogs, comfortable home, smashing walks!

I enjoyed sitting for D'arcy and Luna. D'arcy is a friendly and affectionate little pug who will roll over at the slightest prospect of having her tummy rubbed. Luna is a very striking husky, full of energy and enthusiasm. She has awesome light blue eyes and looks like a wolf, she will lick you constantly if allowed, pulls a bit on her lead - I had to be firm with her and pull back occasionally. Some great walks nearby, plus the fine old town of Cheltenham also just a a couple of miles distant. D'arcy had two walks a day - half hour each, Luna accompanied on those, but I would take her for longer walks during the day (though not to Cheltenham as I wasn't sure about leaving her outside shops while I explored). One time I actually tired her out and she rested for a couple of hours when we got back - I was pleased about this as she is a very fit young dog, so it means I also had a good work out! Chloe (owner) is super (she met me at the station which I was v pleased about) plus two lovely kids. Great experience - would happily repeat and can totally recommend.

Another great stay in Gloucestershire

It was so nice to be invited back and to get to spend some more time with Darcy & Luna, two softies that we really enjoyed taking on walks and spending time with. We found even more great walks right on the doorstep, the location is so good for exploring. A lovely weekend away for us. We'd definitely come back again, thank you Chloe!

Lovely week in Gloucestershire

We had a really lovely week looking after Luna & Darcy in Gloucestershire. We bonded with the dogs quickly and really loved their personalities. We were lucky with the great weather and so were able to get out and about every day, which was brilliant as there are so many fantastic walks and things to see either within walking distance or just a short drive away. The dogs are well behaved, we kept Luna on the lead as instructed and I found her easy enough to handle. Darcy is fine to have off the lead as she won't leave your side. She can bark at some other dogs but you can get her attention fairly easily. Our favourite time of day was after our evening walk settling down on the sofa and giving the dogs a bit of fuss, which they both love. If you're after a break in the countryside, peaceful and with stunning walks nearby, with two very sweet dogs, then we highly recommend this sit!
