If anyone was tailor-made to live the nomadic lifestyle of a home sitter, a professional photographer with a military upbringing has to be in the top ten.
I am a dedicated small business owner (most recently Sit & Stay) and commercial / editorial photographer based in Los Angeles. Because I'm not location dependent, I have the flexibility to work from anywhere provided there is robust internet access. I'm also happy to provide references from clients, hosts, and/or friends that can attest to my character.
Prior to opening my business, I worked in the hospitality and film & television industries so I developed well-honed time-management skills and resourcefulness to name a few.
I enjoy exploring, making things with my hands, and avidly collect new experiences. (Would that we all spent more time traveling.) I was lucky enough to do volunteer builds with Habitat for Humanity and (until recently) owned 3 tool boxes.
I'm also a healthy non-smoker, thrifty, responsible, pragmatic, independent, and a tad bossy (according to my siblings).
As for the home-sit, a few things to consider:
*Sits (max. 2 pets) are gratis including basic homecare. Extensive yard work, additional 4-leggeds, and travel beyond 250 miles from the current sit prompt a fee.
*I'll need to know, in advance, about any special needs so I can give your pets the care they need and deserve.
*I do not accept sits in isolated, 420 friendly (I'm allergic to smoke), or home-steading locales.
*I am not available for home-shares or vacation rental management tasks.
*Pet (dog, cat, fish) companionship and feeding
*Interior home care including light housework, basic maintenance, mail collection, watering plants
*Exterior home care including light gardening and lawn care, daily security sweeps, garbage/recycling set out, pool tending
Home-sitting is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the benefits of the 'share' economy and see the world outside of my own backyard. While I have been to 42 of the 50 states, Canada, Mexico, and parts of Europe, I still consider myself under-traveled.
Being able to have a base of operations - outside of conventional hotels - allows you to live (and hopefully begin new friendships) as a local. Home-sitting takes that one step further by adding the companionship of pets to a journey.
And, in addition to the 'furry and fishy people' I've met and cared for via MindMyHouse, and my alternate domestic-local only listing, over the years I've been companion, chef, playmate, sofa, and custodian to six loving and occasionally rambunctious dogs.
Common sense, patience, responsibility, attention to detail, sense of humor and the need for silliness, maturity, adventure, affinity towards tools, respect for your home and good company for your fur family.
I'm also happy to provide non-sitting references from clients, hosts, and/or friends that can attest to my character. I sit both domestically & internationally, have dozens of references on 3 major platforms, and mostly work with repeat happy Homeowners and their fur families.

Ysa took care of our beloved cat, Orlando during the holidays. She communicated beautifully before the sit, sending us a professional contract and info. sheet. She asked thorough questions about our cat's needs and our wishes in case of an emergency. She made me think about things I never do, but should. I was grateful for the reminders. In person, Ysa is friendly and professional. She emailed us several times while we were gone with cute photos/videos of our kitty and little updates. When we came home, the house was spotless and she even left us baked goods as a holiday present! In all, Ysa was dependable, mature, and thoughtful. We're so grateful for her keeping our kitty safe and happy this December.
Ysa took care of our house and our baby, Penny the Pug, while we went to Japan recently. She is such a responsible and reliable person who has a very graceful personality that we felt totally confident in leaving on our trip. I consider myself to be a well orgainzed person, but during the discussions about our house and dog, Ysa was two steps ahead of me in thinking through all the possible details. Ysa was extremely sensitive to Penny's needs and helped her adjust to our being gone. She also kept the house so tidy that when we returned, we could hardly tell she had been there. We recommend Ysa, without reservation, to any home owner who needs an excellent house/pet sitter.
i am writing to recommend Ysa for house/pet siting. i would have hired her based only on her communication skills--within minutes of talking to her on the phone, i realized what a gem she is. when she arrived at our house, she immediately tuned in to our cat and dog. she was respectful of our space as we prepared for our trip. she sent updates and photos, kept the animals happy and the house clean. when we came home, our cat and dog were perfectly non-plussed, as if we had never been gone. you will be fortunate to have Ysa because she gives you peace of mind while you are away from home.
Ysa took care of my house and dog for 20 days during the Christmas Holidays of 2016. After communicating with her via messages and then meeting, I left for my trip with peace of mind, knowing that my dog and house were in very responsible, capable, and dedicated hands. Throughout the whole process Ysa was prompt replaying to my messages with questions, easy to communicate with, proactive, and discrete. When I returned, the house was in perfect condition and my dog was happy and healthy as always. I would absolutely recommend Ysa as a house sitter.
