About this assignment

A non smoker who is used to dogs & who is safety conscious. Someone who will happily go on short walks twice a day. My dog is on medication daily which is mixed in with her food. She is very hairy so I need someone who doesn't mind being covered in dog hairs!!

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

A person or a couple who wants to visit or revisit a beautiful area of South Wales. I need someone to feed and walk my rescue dog who has slight disabilities. She is very friendly with people but will occasionally bark at other dogs when on her lead. She could quite happily have her tummy tickled all day long. She can be left on her own for short periods only but travels well in a car. She hates being left at home if you are going out. She wants to join in the fun. There are pet friendly cafes in Caerphilly. She has travelled on a bus, a boat & a train but is very nervous of the latter. She can cope with most adventures.

What are the good features of the property and location

I live in a quiet residential area about 10 miles from Cardiff with a very good transport system. Cardiff offers good shopping, theatres, cinemas, a variety of restaurants and cafes. Just south of Brecon Beacons with very good walks, Not too far from the coast. My home is in walking distance of some small shops, hairdressers & chemist but Caerphilly has several super markets, cafes, charity shops and other shops which is about 2 miles away [45 mins on foot or a reliable bus service] Both Caerphilly and Cardiff have large castles.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

A car is not essential as public transport is good. But having a car would get them further afield to explore the country side. The area where I live is quiet and the night life in Caerphilly is poor. There are some eateries and British pubs for evenings out but there is more going on in Cardiff. If relying on public transport they would need to be aware of trains back from Cardiff which don't run very late.
