We look for a sitter who is willing to take good care of our comfortable home and lovely animals. The sitter should be comfortable to stay in the middle of nowhere in the woods of a regional park in the Creuse in a little hamlet with just 5 houses of which 3 are owned by French and 2 by Dutch.
Feeding the animals and walking the dog. This takes me approx. 2 hours a day. The house is confortable and does not need any work. In case you like it, you could mow grass around the house with special equipment or clean the meadows and or kitchen garden. But this is just an option.
The best place for those of you who seek total silence in nature. The house is situated on a very beautiful spot in the woods with a great view. The location is very remote. Small roads, no infrastructure, no tourism and total silence. The house is surrounded by beautifull nature and a lot of wild life. Walking tours start from the house. Nearest location for grosseries is the very beautiful and creative village called Felletin (20 minutes by car). The house is confortable and warm with central heating but also has wood stoves in livingroom, conservatory and kitchen. We have TV with 250 international channels and netflix, wifi, dishwasher, well equipped bathroom, etc.
You have to consider that this location is very remote which forces you to have a car. You can do some very nice sightseeing but it takes time to get there. This is an opportunity for those of you who like to experience living in and with nature in total silence.
We had a great time at Norma's and would recommend this sit. The house is situated in a small peaceful hamlet surrounded by nature and cute villages. We met one of the neighbours and they were very kind. Norma left good instructions, was easy to communicate with and reacted very fast on questions on Whatsapp. Norma took really good care of us and we felt very welcome. The house was just cleaned when we arrived and the fridge was full with food. Also she cooked us a meal on our arrival day. Even though we didn't have much experience with horses we find it easy to take care of Quinto and Koen. It was really awesome when they came enthusiastically galloping towards us when it was feeding time. Our kids really loved the 3 cats. Troy, an huge dog, was very friendly and liked to be petted. We liked to take him for a walk in the nearby forest.
We stayed at Norma's house for one week and had a great time in this beautiful and quiet area. The pets- Troy, 3 cats and the horses Quinto and Koen were really friendly and easy to take care of after the introductions of Norma. It was a great experience to stay there and really nice to meet you Norma. We recommend this homesitting experience to everyone who wants to spend time in a lovely house in a beautiful and quiet surrounding with kind animals.
If you want peace and quiet this is the place to stay. It is beautiful, the air is so clear and fresh, the stars at night are amazing, the atmosphere is like floating on a soft white fluffy cloud. I had a very enjoyable house sit looking after the 2 horses, large dog, cat and kittens. I met Norma the day be fore she left and she was extremely friendly and helpful in giving me full and easy to follow instructions as to how to care and feed for all the animals and how to 'muck out' the stable if necessary. Norma kindly left a fridge full of lovely food and drink and information, with maps and leaflets of local events and markets. We were also able to communicate with each other via 'What's App' when needed. I could tick all the boxes very positively for the whole experience. It is a very quiet yet peaceful location with many interesting places to visit close by. It is necessary to have a car.
We arrived at Normas house the day before she left for her trip so we could get to know the animals and she could show us her routine. She was relaxed, friendly and well organised. We spent a lovely evening with her and her friend and felt very comfortable looking after the pets and the house. Norma kept in touch with us while she was away and we had no problems with any of the animals. The property is located in a lovely area and there are many tracks and quiet lanes to go walking as well as acres of forest within minutes of the house. The french neighbours were also very friendly and helpful and it was a very enjoyable place to stay. We would be very happy to sit for Norma again and will also keep in touch as friends.
