About this assignment

I’m looking for a resourceful, responsible, retired couple who speaks French to stay in my house to look after the cats and help with the pony and the donkey while I’m away helping stray cats in Greece.
I will be going for anywhere from 10 days to one month during the months of May/June, October and Nov/Dec.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Taking care of the house, the cats, pony and donkey. Must have experience with equines to recognise if there is a problem and be able to lift their feet to treat if necessary. The donkey and pony are only there from May to November.

What are the good features of the property and location

The property is really isolated and very beautiful but it's not a good place if you want to have a social life. But if you like hiking, rock-climbing, biking and just basically being close to nature it's a great place. It's in the Mercantour national park in Southern France. 1.5-2 hour bus trip to Nice.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

The dates posted are not fixed, I can be flexible depending of the availability of the house/pet sitter. It's in the middle of the southern French Alps and not in the middle of a touristic village and you pretty much need a car to go anywhere. There is the possibility of using my car however for short trips. Having said that, there are several charming mountain villages in the valley.
