About this assignment

We are a german-mexican couple and will be traveling to Germany this summer to visit my familiy for two months. Due to work scedules and the pandemic I havent seen them for more than two years so this time we'll be gone a little longer than usual.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We will be leaving the most important members of our familiy in your care, our dogs Lota y Max. All they need is love, love, love, their walks and more love. Taking care of them also involves organizing their food (they eat raw meat) and giving them vitamins and meds (Max has a bad back).
Apart from the dogs we ask you to keep the flat clean and just care for it as if it was your own.

What are the good features of the property and location

We a currently living in a 2-room flat in Santa Maria el Tule about 20 mins outside de Oaxaca. The village is home to the famous El Tule tree, a popular tourist destination and is well conected to Oaxaca city and the surrounding area by public transport, great for exploring the area. If you enjoy long walks, hiking or mountain biking the communial lands and the mountains of la Sierra Norte are just outside the village. Oaxaca has it all: interesting culture, great weather, delicious food and stunning landscapes.
The flat is perfect for one person or a couple working remotely, apart from the bedroom there is a study, where I normaly teach my classes and a seperate working space in the spacious living/diningroom. The internet connecion is fast and very reliable, we have both been working from home for over a year.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

You'll be living in a small village and while people here are used to see tourists we ask you to respect local traditions and customs as well as the neighbours. This is not a place for wild parties but a home to enjoy and explore the local culture and tradition from.
