About this assignment

We're looking for a responsible, non-smoking single person or couple (sorry, no kids) with cat-caring experience who could look after Kocimir when we're away travelling. The summer 2026 assignment would be great for somebody who works from home, as the cat loves company, but obviously you don't need to stay at home the whole time.

On our side, we're Ola & Maciek, a married couple living in the center of Warsaw. We're active people (we love to housesit ourselves!) who attach importance to ecology and love nature. Ola works as a project manager, Maciek deals with regional development and is also an academic lecturer.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Kocimir is quite shy and timid around newly met people, but once you earn his trust (which requires some work - and a snack or two) he loves to play and cuddle. He likes to sleep in bed with us, but he's fine with being left outside the bedroom as well. However, he does need to have someone at home at night.

We would appreciate if you played with Kocimir two or three times a day (for a total of at least 30 minutes), e.g. with balls, string and other toys. He loves to hunt for for things which run away from him or hide from him, especially after meals.

Kocimir has an automatic feeder that only needs to be filled once a day. He has two litter boxes that should be cleaned regularly (usually twice a day). The water in his bowl should be changed every 2-3 days.

If you could just keep an eye on the plants and give them a little water if they look thirsty that would be great.

Finally, we would love to get some photo-updates on our furball during your stay :)

What are the good features of the property and location

We live in a nice, spacious apartment in the center of Warsaw. There's a fully equipped kitchen, a large living room, bedroom, two bathrooms and a place to work. We have broadband internet and cable TV with HBO Max.

Our apartment is on a quiet street with nice cafes, a pub and a pizzeria. There are many shops in the area. It is close to various sights and attractions: the beautiful Mokotów Field Park is a 15-minute walk away, and you can reach the Royal Baths in 10 minutes by bus (or half an hour by foot). The Warsaw Central train station is a 10 minute walk or 2 tram stops away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

There is no AC in the apartment, but we do have a large fan if it gets hot. Plus, the apartment faces both east and west, so half of it is always in the shade.

Our neighbors are sensitive to noise, so loud music, partying, etc. is out of the question.

We leave our apartment tidy and we expect our guests leave it tidy as well.

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Amazing cat and fabulous owners

Ola and Maciek were fabulous to deal with. They had the best instructions list of all the places I've sat in the past five years, as well as helpful recommendations to make the most of my stay. We stayed in touch throughout the sit, and they were always responsive if I had a question. The apartment is really spacious and comfortable, easy to care for, and in a brilliant location to come and go by bus, tram or train. Kocimir is an absolute delight and I started missing him the minute I left. He is equally playful and chilled out, talkative and inquisitive. He loves his food, which is brilliantly set up in an automatic feeder that makes caring for him a breeze, and he loves playtime as well. He was loads of fun to be with, but would also happily curl up on the bed and have a nap with me if I was having a lazy day. I loved everything about my stay and hope I get an opportunity to look after Kocimir in the future. I'd highly recommend Ola and Maciek and Kocimir to anyone looking for a relaxed and joyful stay in Warsaw.

Amazing experience in Poland with the cutest cat ever !

I spent a wonderful time at Ola & Maciek place. They are both very friendly and welcoming. They explain very well all you need to know about Kocimir, the assignment, the apartment. They even let you information about the things to do in Warsaw. Kocimir is such a cute cat, lively but quiet as well. I felt in love with him at first sight ! He gave me a lot of affection and it was great to spend time with him and cuddling ! The apartment is very pleasant, quiet, in a great area. It is very well connected to the city center by bus or metro. And Warsaw is an amazing place to find out. I totally recommend to cat sit for Ola & Maciek and share time with my sweet Kocimir !

Cutest shy but then friendly cat

Kocimir is a great super sweet young cat. He’s extremely shy at first but once he warms up it’s all love and play. Thankfully Ola and Miszka have some wonderful friends who came over the first five days or so to appease Kocimir. The apartment is very comfortable and super close to the train station and center of Warsaw. Public transportation is most excellent, punctual and super easy to navigate with Google maps. Overall it was a great experience on all levels and I would recommend looking over Kocimir and exploring Warsaw to anyone who is curious about Poland like I was. Wonderful people!!! Thank you for inviting me into your castle!
