We are looking for someone who is a loving animal caregiver and who will follow animal care instructions carefully. We hope to find someone who will give the animals the attention and love that they are used to. It is important that caregivers would feel very comfortable texting us with any questions/concerns or reach out to our friends/neighbors on call while we are away.
Responsibilities include feeding our dog Posey and cat Sully am/pm, checking that they have water and giving Posey CBD pellets in peanut butter if she is showing anxiety. Posey is let out on her long line out the back door in the morning. I put her on her leash and she comes out to help me feed the ponies am/pm. I tie her on her long line by the horse gate while I feed the farm animals. She does best when we take her for an evening walk up the road. The ponies need hay am/pm and pellets with supplements am/pm as well. Their water will need to be filled everyday as well. The chickens will have a self feeder and large water container which needs to be checked daily and filled as needed. Eggs can be collected and enjoyed by caregiver as well. I pick up horse and chicken manure almost every day or every other day. This is flexible depending on your schedule.
Our comfortable home is on 5 acres in a neighborhood 2 miles outside of the small, quaint town of Parker, Colorado, approximately 30 minutes from downtown Denver and 1 hour and 45 minutes from the ski town of Breckenridge. It's an area of outstanding natural beauty with spectacular mountain views and Ponderosa Pines surrounding the house and farm. We live on a well maintained quiet dirt road which is wonderful for evening walks up to the top of a hill where amazing Rocky Mountain sunsets can be viewed.
We have delicious well water, AC for summer and whole house cooling fan for evening and central heating for winter. The house is well-insulated with large windows overlooking the front and back yards/pasture.
Local shops and supermarkets, Post Office, library, hardware store, hospital all are 2 miles from our home.
You are welcome to use condiments/food in our fridge and cupboards.
You will need your own car to get here. There are buses available approx. 2 miles away and run on Parker Rd(HWY83) and Light Rail train to downtown Denver is 7 miles west of us.
Our guest room downstairs has a full (double) bed with bathroom with shower/tub adjacent. There are living room spaces upstairs and downstairs, back deck and front porch for outdoor spaces with comfortable chairs/couch.
