We’re looking for someone kind, reliable, and dog-loving—someone who enjoys a slower pace of life and can appreciate the beauty and calm of the French countryside. You’ll be caring for two lovely dogs who enjoy routine and gentle companionship, so patience and empathy are key. This is an ideal spot for a solo sitter or couple who’s independent, respectful, and happy spending time in nature.
Your main role will be to care for our two dogs, Elsa and Max.
Elsa is a sweet little mix who can be timid at first, but once she warms up, she’s affectionate and knows what she wants.
Max is a beagle—friendly but more independent—he doesn’t need constant attention, just consistency and good walks.
They’re both 8 years old and used to a calm routine: morning and evening walks, regular feeding, and a peaceful environment.
You’ll also be asked to keep the house tidy, collect post, and water a few plants—very light upkeep.
We’re just outside of Javerlhac, so having your own car is ideal. That said, if insurance allows, we may be able to arrange use of our car during your stay.
Our home is located right by a river and scenic bike path, offering beautiful walks and peaceful views. It’s a tranquil setting perfect for relaxing, working remotely, or reconnecting with nature.
The main house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which has a bath with stunning views over the forest—a real treat!
There’s a separate office space and an outbuilding, which makes it great for remote work or creative projects.
We also have strong Wi-Fi, Netflix, and a full range of TV channels for cozy evenings in.
The nearby village of Javerlhac has a tabac, butcher, small grocery store, and not one, but three bakeries. For bigger shops, Nontron is just a 10-minute drive away.
This is a quiet, rural location—best suited to someone who enjoys solitude, nature, and a slower pace of life. A car is essential for getting around (or we may be able to lend ours depending on insurance).
While the dogs are very manageable, Elsa needs a little time to build trust, so patience is important. We’re looking for sitters who will genuinely enjoy their company and be happy with a few dog walks, a cozy home, and the calm rhythm of countryside living.
No, sorry.
