Family home in leafy Brisbane suburb near forest with loving pets

About this assignment

We are heading on a short vacation and would love someone who loves animals to look after our home for 2 weeks in January 2026 (1st - 13th Jan.
We'd love an honest person or couple who is comfortable around animals as we have have an old Beagle who likes a daily walk, a cat who likes a snuggle and some dinner; and a few fish that need nothing much but a few flakes of food daily.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The pets would need daily feeding and the beagle likes a slow meander around the block once a day. Other than the general daily household things, like emptying the letter box and putting out the weekly bins, there's not much else to do except enjoy your selves and keep the place relatively tidy and lock up when you go out!

What are the good features of the property and location

Clean and tidy 3 bedroom home on a leafy inner city location in Tarragindi, close to buses and not too far from the M1 and bicycle veloway. It's 12Km into the city, or approx 70km south to the Gold Coast.
We are on a culdesac street, so not much traffic, and within walking distance to Toohey forest, so it is ideal if you like bush walking or cycling and wild life. There are plenty of parrots that visit the area, and koalas, owls and echidnas in the the forest.
We have bikes that you are welcome to use and our home has air-conditioning in the main lounge, a nice big back deck, a big yard and plenty of streaming options on the TV.
A 50cent bus ride into Brisbane city is approx 20 mins.
Our house also has a 7kW EV charging setup if you have an EV.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We would like a sitter or sitters who are comfortable around pets, generally keeps the place clean and tidy and can deal with issues if they arise (We will leave any contact details for anything that might come up.
We'd prefer someone with references and a police check.
(Unfortunately use of the cars is not included, but you are welcome to park in the car port if you need to use the EV charger.)
