About this sitter

Quiet, independent, single, non-smoking, freelance writer with experience housesitting/petsitting (dogs and cats) and upkeeping my own country home.

I will be traveling in the Ecuador-Peru-Colombia area March-May '13 and would certainly love any housesits in that area. From June '13 onward, I'll be open to any housesitting opportunities in the U.S., especially the Southeast, South and the coasts.

Why they want to house sit

I love animals, but realize that I can't currently make the long-term commitment to a pet. I also adore travel, and writing allows me some freedom of location, if also a modest income. I appreciate being in a place for several weeks or months instead of several days.

Their experience

As a current country cottage-renter, I'm used to caring for my little house and living on my own. I've also lived in city apartments and managed all the aspects of that kind of life.

I grew up volunteering at the Animal Rescue League across the street and with pets of our own - at the age of 12, I bought a dachshund mix from the shelter with my own money. More recently, I've been a housesitter and petsitter in a variety of situations. I take all the animal time I can get - animals have always been my people, so to speak.

What can they bring to the assignment

A homebody at heart, I'm able to spend most of my time on your property, and to accommodate special situations. Many housesitting, personal, pet and professional references available.
