About this sitter
My wife and I are now retired (though I still do a bit of consulting). Traveling to new places is very exciting for us; we love to meet new people and learn about new areas and cultures. The local geography, food and wine, events, almost anything new we view as an adventure. We also love pets - dogs, cats, birds, fish, other small animals, but have no experience with large animals like horses and cows. We have experience driving in many countries (including on the left in the U.K.) so we could sit anywhere, though we would love to be able to walk to local restaurants and shops. We do not smoke, and always try to leave a place cleaner than when we arrived.
Why they want to house sit
House sitting provides an opportunity to spend a longer time in a place - time to explore and learn about it, to meet new people (and make new friends), and ultimately return home with a more refined view of the world. Staying in a hotel for a night or two can actually isolate a person from the local scene. House sitting is the way to go!
Their experience
Yes. We grew up with dogs and cats, and have sat in our local area for people with pets, and also in England and Germany; we have references here on MindMyHouse and several more on another site that we have used. We spend time with them, and take very good care of them - we love them and they love us back.
What can they bring to the assignment
We are a mature, responsible couple, quite adaptable to almost any situation. We have owned our own house for many years, and know what it takes to maintain a home. I am handy with tools, and can fix lots of things, but I also know when it is time to call a professional.

I was delighted to welcome Jeff and Michele on the first leg of their trip from US, to look after my hounds for a few days. As always Presto and Lola manage to make everyone who looks after them really enjoy the sit. Lots of lovely walks and lucky with the weather, they were a super, helpful, undemanding couple.

Jeff and Michele were excellent!
Jeff and his lovely wife Michele made our first experience using house sitters exceptional! Jeff was very communicative before the sit (and even offered to jump on Zoom for an introduction), asked about our expectations and communication preferences, and was understanding when airline troubles forced us home a day early. I was worried about leaving our slightly anxious rescue cats with new people, but we came home to two very happy and well cared for cats—and a very clean home. Jeff and Michele were even kind enough to leave a list of restaurants in the area they had tried while in town and their recommendations. I hope all of our future house sits go as smoothly as with Jeff and Michele!

Loved by my dog!
Jeff and Michele take good care of my house and my dog when I am away. My dog loves seeing them arrive now. I think she gets better walks with them than with me. All was neat and clean when I returned and I will have them as often as they are available. Highly recommend. You will enjoy your own trip more knowing that home and pets are well loved.

Lovely, lovely couple! :)
No qualms in recommending Jeff and Michele for any house sitting / pet sitting ! In fact I would recommend them highly! Most of my communication was with Jeff, but Michele was so friendly when we met and we loved having them over. We were assured they would care for our cats and the house. House was spotless when we got back and I highly recommend Jeff and Michele :)
