Extremely responsible empty nesters ready for new adventure after raising 4 kids (and many pets) and taking care of our house as well as that of friends and neighbors

About this sitter

We are very neat and organized people that are looking for nice properties in the US to housesit, so that we can enjoy and learn more deeply about living in different parts of the country. We are very active and capable of keeping a house very clean and taking care of any problems, as well as thoroughly enjoying taking dogs for long walks and getting to know the four-legged friends.

Why they want to house sit

We live in the central US but have travelled to most parts of the country, as well as many international destinations. But most of those trips were shorter duration vacations, so now that we are empty nesters and retired, we would like to be able to spend more time in places to really get to know the places.

Their experience

Besides owning 3 different homes over 30 years, we have watched over several houses of friends and neighbors while they were away on vacations, as well as in recent years, we have watched over houses for extended periods while people moved south for the winter.

What can they bring to the assignment

Reliable, responsible, neat, organized, and capable of handling any household chores, lite repairs if needed, and we enjoy taking care of outside areas too. We were blessed to be able to retire at a younger age (both 58), so we are still very active and would love to take dogs for walks and play. We have had 2 Golden Retrievers during the last 25 years, with our latest one being put down a year or so ago, so we miss having dogs around. We have also had a menagerie of other pets including rabbits, fish, hamster, Guinea Pig, and a white rat named Phineas. We have "babysat" our friends cat many times over the year too.
