About this sitter
I am a mature woman and a retired educator with multiple domestic and farm skills. I am fairly well traveled and would like to expand on this. I have no problem staying in rural or isolated areas.
Why they want to house sit
I would like to expand my horizons, meet new people, bond with their animals, visit new cities, countries and absorb new cultures and ideas. All history is appealing to me.
I love to make my home available for travelers. I enjoy meeting new people and sharing stories. It really is a small and interesting world!
Their experience
I was the caretaker for 14 years for a home here locally. It was used by many people over those years. I kept up the home and the landscape.
I have good references. I have am bond-able and have no police record.
I've built and remodeled my homes and have large vegetable and flower gardens. I am an avid walker and hiker and love spending time outdoors.
As for animals...well, I am an animal lover of all sorts, and get along easily with them and accepted by them. I have always had a dog and a cat, as well as having had a farm with multiple farm animals.
What can they bring to the assignment
I've got a good sense of responsibility, an eye for detail and the energy to take on new challenges. Being a home owner, I am aware of the daily care it takes to keep up a home. I have a clear understanding of how to handle an emergency, or how to trouble shoot minor problems. I am handy with tools and like to keep busy.
I have raised three children and several dogs and cats. I love animals and found that they like me!

I have more to add to my previous testimonial! Michelle and I were in constant communication before, during, and after our trip to Australia. She had been highly recommended by my cousin and Michelle did not disappoint. She drove 600 miles from Eugene, Oregon to our home in Northern California. Our house was cleaner and more organized than when we had left it. Our mouse problem was gone…Michelle trapped at least three. Our missing hen and her eggs were found. Our hound dog was quite content. Michelle took him on long walks every day. Our two horses, with whom she felt quite comfortable were fat and sassy upon our return. Michelle said if we had told her where the brushes were, she would have groomed them as well. What we appreciated, perhaps most was Michelle kindly driving us to and from the airport. What a big help she was! Michelle was easy to be around. She has had a wide variety of experiences…so easy to converse with. We hope Michelle will come again to California. We feel so lucky to have met her and to have had her take care of our house and all our farm animals.

I have had a number of very good animal and house sitters over the 40 plus years that I have owned my home and MIchelle is exceptional. Your animals and house could not be in better hands. My house was even in better order after Michelle house sat for me. In addition, she is responsible, trustworthy, reliable and security conscious. She has common sense and knows how to problem solve. My cat is family to me, and I am very particular about who I trust to care for him. From the start she understood his individual characteristics and treated him accordingly. She noticed and informed me of some unusual behavior for him. Michelle went out of her way to keep me updated on how my dear cat and house are while I was away, which helps me to have a more relaxed trip.

Michelle was fantastic! We are so grateful for her love and care for our sweet fur family. Michelle was thoughtful and attentive. She even came the night before we departed so she could get a good understanding of the cats routine. We felt very comfortable leaving the home and pets in her care and we came home to a clean and well cared for home.

A Wonderful House Sitter
House sitting is often a gamble for both the home owner and the sitter. Michelle, once she met our young, energetic, barking, jumping...did I say barking?...dogs, I feared she might have felt on the short end of the gamble. However that was not the case. Michelle is a thoughtful, conversant, flexible and responsible house sitter (I am tempted to say house guest). It is such a delight to find someone who meets all your expectations and becomes something of a friend besides. Our endorsement is without qualification; I hope Michelle is able to return deep into the future. We may need to travel more to keep our relationship fresh. I checked all the boxes except the garden as that didn't come into play but if she sits in the spring or fall I suspect that one would be checked too. Without qualification she has our endorsement. Such sweet relief for things to turn our so very well.

What a beautifull person Michelle is....
We had the honor of having Michelle stay with us and watch our little boomer dog Daisy, we immediately had good contact, and she is a wonderful loving and sweet organised women who is very trust-able. She was very good and sweet with our little dog and the 2 parakeets we have, i really wanted to keep her, but of course she needed to go back home. I really recommend her if you want someone who is as sweet nice trust-able loving caring as she was for us. I hope she will be with us another time, i really do miss her ALOT! And im blessed having the opportunity to met with her. I am sorry my English writing isnt that good, we are from the Netherlands..... Michelle, thank you so much for everything you did, especially being yourself. You are a beautiful person.
