About this assignment

Someone calm and reliable, who genuinely cares for animals and plants, and enjoys living a semi-rural life in France.  Some knowledge of French would be sensible, especially in case of emergencies.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Looking after up to three dogs and a cat.
Watering plants - I never go away in the summer, nor for long periods, so this would not be a heavy task.
Emptying the letter box and putting the vacuum cleaner around when necessary!

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is a small, modern bungalow, well-heated in winter and easy to run.  It is enclosed by a fairly large and securely fenced garden.  I am situated on the edge of a pretty village with its own shops and amenities and surrounded by beautiful countryside with plenty of good walks within five minutes of the house.  It is not far from the town of Montmorillon which has a weekly market, good supermarkets, restaurants, cinema and swimming pool.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

This is not a resort town, so no beaches, mountains or nightlife. 
If you do not drive, and want to visit Montmorillon (12 kms) away, there is a weekly bus service on market day.
I have lots friends in the village, who would be willing to help in an emergency.
