I am looking for a responsible person or couple to live in my house this summer and look after my pets while I'm out of town. I expect to be traveling from about July 1 to August 10, though these dates are flexible. I might be able to extend my trip through the month of August is that would make it more feasible for the sitter.
Other than basic upkeep of the home, taking in mail, and watering plants, there is no additional work. No yard work is involved, as I don't have a lawn to mow (it's just ivy, small trees and perennials). I'd like the sitter to spend time in the house, especially if the sitter is gone several hours a day at a job, both as companionship for the animals, and for home security.
The major responsibility is pet sitting. I have two dogs and two cats (indoor), all very friendly and trained. The cats require daily medication (an insulin shot for one cat twice a day, and pills for the other once a day). Otherwise, it would be the usual duties: food and water, walks for the dogs, cleaning the litterbox.
My home is a 1915 3-bedroom bungalow, located a 15 minute walk from the University of Cincinnati. The house has a private back deck and front porch, central air-conditioning, cable TV, TIVO and a DVD player, dishwasher, washer and dryer, a desktop Mac and wireless internet, and I receive the New York Times seven days a week.
I'm looking for someone comfortable with multiple pets, both cats and dogs. My dogs are medium (about 35 pounds) and large (about 65 pounds), so the sitter should be comfortable and capable with larger dogs.
