About this assignment
A house sitter or sitters, who are not fazed by living in a rural area in Spain with the closest village 20 minutes away and the town of Cadiar is 20 minutes away, They must be kind, totally honest, trustworthy and reliable and like dogs, someone who is conscientious and caring who will look after our house, and property and our seven year old Border Terrier. They must be adaptable and have confidence to handle the challenges which sometimes may occur living in such a rural area.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
The responsibilities are to include general day to day upkeep of the house, watering the garden. The garden area is small. Generally keeping an eye on things with regard to security and generalities relevant to looking after this house, the property and our dog.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our home is situated in the hills amongst vineyards, with the most stunning views, to the sea and the mountains. Amazing night skies, unspoilt by artificial light. Unspoilt countryside, glorious sunshine, peace and quiet, only 4 minutes off a main road, but totally rural. Depending upon the time of year, one can see the mules and horses working on the hillsides, a real reminder of the past. This is excellent walking and biking country.We are 30 minutes from the Mediterranean. Our home is powered by solar energy with generator backup. Having said that we have more than sufficient power and enjoy an excellent standard of living. There is unlimited sunshine but being in the mountain area, the evenings are cool, a great asset during the summer months.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
The aspect of not being in a commercial, busy part of Spain but totally rural. However, with easy access to villages, small and large and sophisticated towns and cities and beach, if desired. There is no landline but mobile phone coverage is good. We have a good WIFI connection, which provides us with internet and TV. Sitters should provide their own means of trnsport.

Fabulous housesitting assignment for a wonderful couple in a beautifully quiet home in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada.
Tim and Tricia were fabulous hosts from the start. They kept in regular contact before and during the 35 day assignment to care for their beautiful home and garden, answering my questions and giving me information to help with my planning and stay. I stayed with them before they left to show me the ropes and local area and after they returned for me to show them the new watering system I installed. They made me feel very welcome and supported throughout. I feel very blessed and grateful to have met them and been able to stay in their beautiful home in such a delightful part of Spain.Gracias!
