Please note - I am not in a position to pay for a sitter - at the same time I am not expecting anyone to pay anything to stay here!
My main priority are three dogs who are used to lots of company and walks - I work from home so this is what they are used to. There are also fish to feed on a daily basis and house plants to water. Therefore the house sitter will need to be able bodied, a dog lover and someone who enjoys the peace and quiet of the countryside. The dates are variable and I am looking for long weekends or a week at a time to be agreed mutually.
In addition to the dogs the property operates as a small trout fishery and we have an average of 2 or 3 visitors per day. This sounds like a complication but it is set up to run on a honesty box system and my experience has been 100% positive with this. All I do is wander around periodically chatting to the visitors - full training will be provided.
As mentioned the property is very rural and quiet. There are about 40 acres which is a combination of lakes and fields. There is incredible wildlife - we see deer, badgers, foxes on a daily basis, a wide range of birds including Buzzards and a kingfisher!
The main thing is the remoteness of the property. The nearest house is 400 yards and there is a pub about 2 miles away. However the nearest shop is 15 mins away in the car. The property is in a valley and any walks will involve some reasonable uphill sections so you need reasonable fitness.
