About this assignment

We need a mature, single woman who can take good care of and focus on our home and our thirteen year old beagle and our three year old chihuahua. We'd love to find someone who we could count on for this current house-sit as well as future short or long term house-sits if it worked out for everyone's mutual benefit. Please do not respond if you have a spouse or partner, pets or children of your own that you want to bring with you.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The most important responsibility for our sitter is to feed the dogs twice daily and let them out. Leo, the beagle, doesn't need walking (too old), but does need a bit of love and reassurance from someone who has a gentle touch. Lola, the chihuahua on the other hand, would strongly benefit from a daily walk. Responsibilities could also require mowing a tiny yard, depending on the season (we have a battery operated mower) and very light housekeeping. This person would also have to be willing to be home during the evening at a reasonable hour as the dogs are especially habitual with having someone in their company at night.

What are the good features of the property and location

Our town is small, quiet and peaceful with solid, stable neighbors who are willing to help if and when necessary. We are located 1 1/2 hrs. southeast of the Twin Cities/Minneapolis & St. Paul with a local shuttle available. Rochester, MN is within 35 minutes of our home. There are also two very popular attractions available in the nearby area - one, being the National Eagle Center in the town of Wabasha itself and the other - Lark Toys, which is located in Kellogg, a town that is about five miles from our residency. The area is beautiful every season. It is surrounded by bluffs and valleys along the Mississippi with many small, scenic towns along both the MN and WI sides of the river. If you are interested in a quiet village type setting in God's country, then you will love it here.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

First of all, you will need to love dogs. Although our chihuahua can be clingy, our dogs require very little attention. However, they still need to know that they are being watched over by someone who has a genuine affection for them. You may need a car. You will need to be the kind of person who appreciates small town life and the peace and quiet if offers. You will also need to enjoy nature and welcome all that it offers. Please note that we require a single woman with no partner, pets and/or children of your own that you want to bring with you!
