About this assignment

Someone that absolutely loves cats, I have 2 cats and I also need someone to once a day feed my employers cats(1 km away)as she is not able to live in the country side during the winter. I work in a botanical garden and normally spend my winter rakeing leaves so there could be a possibility of taking over my job for a short time and earn some money, however this is not guaranteed but expenses would be paid to travel back and fore daily, we do have a couple of bikes if you enjoy the fresh air or like walking as our previous house sitters did. We are not house proud but are looking for someone to be reasonably tidy and take good care of our home, to be reliable and trustworthy. A basic understanding of French would be useful for taking the odd call for our B&B. We are closed during the winter months so it would be for enquiries only.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

Just to be there and take care of the cats, give them lots of cuddles and make sure the house stays in good order, if you enjoy pottering in the garden great it will save me some work when I return, if not its no problem.

What are the good features of the property and location

The house is a modern style villa, two bedrooms and heated via a log fire. We are situated in the country, very quiet and peaceful with wonderful views and perfect for country walks and cycling yet only 4 kms from our nearest town with a wonderful open air market once a week but all amenities. We have unlimited free phone access to most countries, French, and English Satelite tv and wifi access. During the summer months we run a B&B but close for the winter.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

A car is necessary , able to speak the language always helps and a love of cats essential, dont expect night life - this is France!!! but a fabulous place for walking, cycling,painting, bird watching, daydreaming etc, etc.
