About this assignment

We're currently looking to cover May 6th- 14th and May 23rd-June 2nd. Please send us a skype contact with your application so we can set up a video conversation.

We're looking for a family or a couple who are fun, responsible and who adore nature, animals and the outdoor life. You'll be responsible for our property, which includes your cottage and our farmhouse and also for feeding our animals (see below). We'll be back and forth, living in our own accommodation next door, so we're looking for friends as well as good neighbours. Knowledge of French is useful but not essential.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

We have animals (donkeys, chickens, dog) so you would be in charge of looking after these. From spring onwards, tending the vegetable plot.

What are the good features of the property and location

The cottage is in the staggeringly beautiful Haut-languedoc region of southern France. A perfect place to go hiking, cycling, hill-walking and river swimming. There are three bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen and a nice living room with a wood-burning stove to keep you cosy. It's the perfect place to relax and get away from it all, to get closer to nature. A brilliant place to write (I've already written one novel here!)

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

It's remote - The nearest village with a shop is a 2km walk away, the nearest supermarket a 13km bicycle or car ride. It's a special, wild and beautiful place - for a special, wild and interesting couple or family!
