We are looking for a confident, reliable person/couple, a dog loving house-sitter to care for our dear Alfie-Bear, a big ol German Shepherd of 11 years young, although he has slowed down dramatically, you need to be confident & authoritive as he is a big boys & has his quirky little ways. He loves company & a fuss & would be grateful for a couple of short walks a day to allow him to sniff & snuffle.
He is a good boy, relatively obedient but will need someone who is of strong character, because although he is a tad wobbly on his back legs, he can still surprise you & drag you off after a cat or squirrel, & he has a few minor hang ups with a couple of local dogs! He needs feeding twice a day & would appreciate a brush (out on your walk is ideal, but in the garden is fine too).
And at the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Lottie, a Sprocker who is as loopy as they come!! She is only 11 weeks but by the time we go away will have reached the grand age of 5 months old and I am hoping that her training will be coming on nicely by then. Obviously being a puppy, she requires a lot more exercise than dear Alf. She is cage trained both at home & in the car so could accompany you on your jaunts around our beautiful county if you don’t mind.
We also have 2 chickens that require minimal effort, you can access their coop from our front door, & simply throw some food out a couple of times a day & collect fresh eggs for your breakfast.
To care for & love our pets as if they were your own.
We live in a quiet cul-de-sac, and our neighbours are fab. We have a modest 4 bedroomed house, with central heating, WIFI, HD TV, dvd player, CD player, printer & scanner, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher & washing machine.
We have fabulous valley walks on our doorstep, but if you hop in the car, you have the most amazing beaches to explore, from a 10-30 minute drive away plus coastal path, you will be spoilt for choice.
We are a 10-15 minute stroll from the town of St Austell. We have the Eden Project on our doorstep, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and Truro is only 25 minutes by car for shopping or the cathedral.
I am a little apprehensive about leaving Alfie because of his age, if I’m honest, I’m not even sure he’ll be around by then but of course there is Lottie who will be yearning for company, she’s so young & maybe not fully trained & it will be the first time I have left her. So I need someone who will love them both & look after them & put my mind at rest & in return we offer you our home as a base to explore our beautiful county that is Cornwall.
