I have been a house sitter whilst travelling the world and appreciated the owners opening their home to me in order to experience the lifestyle and culture of another country. I am happy to welcome others who are looking to do the same as well as house sitters that are locally based.
My main priority in choosing a house sitter is to find someone who would care for my two dogs as I do. Someone who is reliable, trustworthy and would ensure that the boys are looked after and happy.
The house and garden are low maintenance and easy to care for. Keeping the property clean and tidy should be an easy task.
The property is best suited to singles or couples given it's size.
I have various dates in 2013 available:
July 1 - July 12
September 23 - October 4
End December 2013 - End Janaury 2014
These dates are within the Victorian School Holidays. I have not made travel plans as yet but as I am a teacher, these are the times I have available to take holidays.
I would consider doing a house sit myself during these periods if a home owner / house sitter was open to doing the same.
The main responsibility will be taking care of the boys. They love people and are used to having someone around. They are easy to care for, much like the house, but they do need a daily walk in the park or at the river.
Ensuring the house is clean, tidy and secure while I am away is the only other requirement.
Our property is located on the coast about a half hour drive from the Great Ocean Road. It is a cosy two story three bedroom cottage set in an idyllic location.
The house sitter would be accommodated downstairs in our comfortable guest room.
The house is a short walk to the Barwon River, the local park and the main street that features many cafes, a supermarket and boutique stores. It is a five minute drive to the beach which is popular with local surfers.
The property is located in a small coastal town that does have bus links to Geelong however the house sitter would be able to explore more of the area if they had their own transport.
