About this assignment

I am looking for a mature and responsible person with a great love for both dogs and cats, as well as being comfortable living in a very rural spot.

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

The main responsibility will be to look after the animals. I have three large dogs, who are all very people friendly. They are all sighthounds, and if you have any experience with these breed that would be a great advantage. They are hunting breeds with great speed, and cannot be let off the leash in this area where there are a lot of wild animals. They have a big fenced in area to run. They are very calm and easygoing inside.
There are 4 house cats, but only one of them is an indoor cat, as he is deaf. He needs a lot of love and attention.
There is also the basic maintenance of the house and garden, watering and taking care of the lawn, etc.

What are the good features of the property and location

Welcome to my charming Swedish country house, situated between hills and forests, fjord and sea. The area is rural and beautiful, with many good trails or hiking alternatives. There are trails that follow the coastline or into the hills. We live just 15 minutes from the Norwegian border, and under 2 hours from Oslo, Norways capitol city. There are many small and charming seaside towns on both the Swedish and Norwegian side of the border.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

This assignment will be best suited for a person who likes living in the countryside, and who loves being out in nature as well as with animals. You will be needing a car to get around and to do your shopping, etc.
I would prefer it if the sitter could come and stay for a while before I go away for a periode of a few weeks, so that you can get to know me and the animals first.
