About this assignment

We're looking for someone nice and reliable who likes to have a play session with our cat once in a while and treats our belongings with respect :)

What responsibilities are required of the house sitter

it's important to feed the cat "Loui" at least twice a day. Furthermore you're allowed to give cuddles, and play with him as much as you like. ;-)

What are the good features of the property and location

1 bedroom, 1 working space, 1 livingroom and 1 kitchen

it's a 5 minutes walk to the Altstadt of bonn, 5 minutes to the river rhine, direct access to the garden and super quiet. A bakery and a gas station and abuse station are also 2 Minutes away.

What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment

We live in a house where we are friends with all the neighbours in the other apartments, so if you need anything they're happy to help you out.
There is a bedroom with a 1,40m matress, i just dont have pictures at the moment, but I will make some soon!

Can I bring my own pets?

No, sorry.

Testimonials

Happy cat and great owners

We were lucky to pet-sit Philine and Alex's lovely cat, Loui, who we fell in love with the moment we saw him. We highly recommend them for many reasons. They are kind and polite. We had a pleasant conversation over Zoom, and kept chatting during the house-sit and even after it. Also, they live in a comfortable spacious apartment with a garden, in a great location, surounded by friendly and helpful neighbours. And what is probably the most important, they have such a cute and affectionate kitty — although very independent — who reminded me of my cat left in Belarus with my mom and who I miss a lot. We hope to meet Philine and Alex in person one day and to cuddle Loui again, whose heart we believe we won over during the thunderstorm :)

Oasis in Bonn

I visited Alex and Philine's apartment for 10 days in May 2023. The weather was very hot but immediately entering the apartment it felt like an oasis and respite from the weather. I guess the reason for this is because the building is of solid stone construction. And, like an oasis the flat was surrounded by trees that gave further protection from the sun but also allowed for dappled light across the inside of the home's interior and onto the real wooden floors. The walls are high but the flat feels cosy. Throughout the home are books here and there, along with signifiers of emotional connections to the hosts lives. The home as an elegance that is non-pretentious and has a harmony about it like that found in nature. The home feels loved in and lived in. When I returned it felt as if I was back home. Loui is an adorable cat and allowed me to stroke him after a day or so - though he reserves his affection for his real humans. The flat is ideally located for the River Rhine and it's vibrant and cosmopolitan street of cafes, bars, and kiosks. It is a ten minute walk into the centre. I felt very accepted by the neighbours who were very friendly. Alex and Philine are lovely and warm people and it is a pleasure to have got to know them for the short period that I did, and I would like to thank them for welcoming me to their home that provided me the opportunity to feel a connection with Bonn and for their trust placed in me in looking after their home and Loui.

Cherry blossom in Bonn

We have been lucky to housesit in Bonn while the city was in ‘cherry-blossom-time’. The apartment from Philine and Alex is perfectly located, near the city centre. It is a quiet location and has a shared yard. I guess perfect for a summer sit. The owners are very friendly, kept in good contact and helped us with picking us up from a parking place. We were not aware of the fact that you need a special permit for driving in the inner city. So we had to leave our car somewhere ( safe) outside. There is a bakery around the corner and other bigger supermarkets nearby. Bonn has enough to offer and if you like, you can also explore the nature around. Also by train and bus this would have been possible. Loui , the cat is a bit shy in the beginning but after a while, we were able to pet him. He has a cat flap so he is very easy to take care of. This sit is very much recommended.
