We are looking for kind, trustworthy and responsible housesitters who can treat our house as their own whilst we are away.
We have a week away from 20th-27th August but if we find the right person/people,would love to be able to go away more.
Our biggest "problem" is our RACCOON (more of him later).
We have Norman the sausage dog who is a dream.
We have two very friendly cats, both Devon Rexes.Sausage is 15 (but still lively) and Nicks is 11.
Basically just caring for our pets and keeping the house as clean and tidy as we do.
Teddy our raccoon is not you "average" pet and we therefore need someone who is confident with animal and enjoys being with them.Teddy the raccoon is a lovely animal but rather like an army of toddlers as he is into EVERYTHING.He has hands so can open doors, drawers, cupboards etc and just loves playing in the sink or the water bowl. When he isn't sleeping,he really does need supervision although he will play with the dog for ages and also play with his toys.He needs feeding and his litter tray cleaning twice a day.He is pretty well housetrained but you do need to keep an eye open for the odd accident. He is great fun to watch and interact with,he is not ferocious or nasty but he can be a handful!
The cats need feeding once a day,and lots of cuddles. The dog hates walking on pavements but loves running free in the local park.he needs feeding twice a day and a warm lapto rest on once the raccoon has stopped pestering him.
Obviously if anything was wrong with them they would need taking to the vet (we have an account with the vet)
We live in a village called Knebworth in Hertfordshire, famous for it's stately home and the concerts that used to be held there.
The village has a good range of amenities/shops but the large town of Stevenage is also close by with restaurants, cinema etc.
We are also only a 5min walk to the station and the journey to Kings Cross takes only 30 mins.
Our house is not exciting or characterful in any way,but being modern is low maintenace, always warm and pretty spacious. We are surrounded by beautiful countryside, pretty villages and some excellent country pubs.
If you do not drive,it isn't a problem as both village and train station are within walking distance.
We will need references as we need to know our home and animals will be well looked after.
We would love to be able to build a long-term relationship with whoever we use so both we and our animals get to know each other.
