About this assignment
A self sufficient, responsible, capable and caring person(s) with experience of dogs.
Our two Labs, 6&8 love good walks especially along the beach.
Happy to be left after a good walk to allow sitters to explore the area.
Please note that only applicants with MMH testimonials/references will be considered, due to a very bad past experience.
What responsibilities are required of the house sitter
Our animals are our priority and keeping the garden at least alive and watered when necessary comes a close second. Of course we will appreciate the house being kept tidy and safe too but it is a home not a palace and we are happy for sitters to treat it as theirs while they are here. The 2 dogs require feeding and walking at least twice a day.
What are the good features of the property and location
Our home is a really comfortable 4 bedroom house. Modern kitchen with all mod cons. Enclosed secure garden. Lovely neighbours and quiet estate location, 10 minute walk to the beach.
15 minute walk to village centre with pubs shops and restaurants.
Cromer is a 15 minute drive away and we are on a bus route.
North Norfolk is a quaint part of England that time has forgotten. Flint cottages and rural market towns and old fashioned seaside towns.
Great walks for hikers. Norwich is our nearest big town.
The East coast is one of the driest areas in UK.
What does the house sitter need to consider before applying for this assignment
A degree of fitness for our two dogs and a love of a rural/coastal location.
Keeping the garden weeded and tidy.
The East coast can be cold if the wind turns so warm clothing a must.
Can I bring my own pets?

Fantastic people, what a luck to have met you
taffy had picked me up at the airport and immediately we started talking about everything, animals, the country, life, what her loving husband sean does all day long and i arrived at 1300 meters, in a paradise for peace, view and fresh air. the sweetest labrador team welcomed me with full friends and open hearts - like the owners themselves, the horse was my personal highlight. enjoy breathtaking sunsets and take a walk. taking care of the animals, a great house, clean, in the blooming garden, looking after them was an easy one. anytime again, i am glad to have met all of them, really all great beings. thank you and see you soon in the most beautiful neighbourhood in the world

The perfect house sit
What a house sit - beautiful location, loads to do, amazing food, great people. We love the Alpujarras! Sean and Taffy were great, the house was perfect, the cats easy to look after, the TV was amazing - we watched our home rugby team play live (not that we were in Spain to watch TV!), the solar system was no problem and the cherries on the tree were ripe just as we arrived. Did some of the most amazing walking of our lives, swum at the beaches and saw flamingos for the first time! Great ex-pat community so we never felt lonely. The sun tan is sadly fading now we are home!

Real nice quiet place on the mountain
I did a housesit here in the spring of 2018. Sean and Taffy are lovely people, very kind and helpfull. The views are great, and if you love quietness this is perfect. I enjoyd the cherries, apricots and strawberries and some vegetables from the garden, and even made jam of them. Neighbours and friends of Taffy and Sean are nice and friendly and willing to help in case of a problem. I'd like to com back some day, but unfortunately I'm not available in this period.

Wonderful house sit
Wonderful house sit We house sat for Taffy and Sean during the summer of 2017, and we loved it so much, we were very happily headed back there in the summer of 2018; however, a family emergency on our part prevented us from doing so. I would highly recommend this sit. The house is in a wonderful area with lots to do. It is a comfortable house situated atop a mountain with gorgeous views and very friendly neighbors. The town of Cadiar is nearby and offers all amenities. This is a perfect sit for taking day trips to the nearby pueblos blanco and Malaga and Rhonda. The kitties are lovely and very easy to take care of. There are an abundance of fruit trees to eat from. When we were there we had our fill of delicious grapes, figs, almonds, tomatoes, blackberries and more! Taffy and Sean have good friends in the area, who fast became our friends. Taffy and Sean are wonderful, generous people who we are happy to call our friends now. We highly recommend this sit and envy all those who are able to sit for Taffy and Sean. We had a great time taking care of the animals, house and garden for Taffy and Sean. We felt very welcome, and enjoyed the time we spent with Taffy and Sean before they left. During our stay we met a lot of their friends and neighbours, which were lovely to have around. We felt at home and loved the peace and quiet. Our house sit was in October and November and Taffy told is beforehand that it would he the busy time of year, with the harvest of the figs and almonds. We don't like "busy" around us, but it turned out that busy in this small hamlet means that there are two cars a day passing by instead of one... And it meant we could enjoy eating lots of figs and almonds from their garden! The dogs are lovely and very affectionate. The cats are very easy to take care of and are nice company when sitting on the terrace or working in the garden. We recommend this place for people who like rural areas with great views and walks from the house on unpaved roads. The Sierra Nevada is visible from their place and not too far if you'd like to go for a hike in the mountains.

Our Dream House Sit.
Taffy and Sean's house sit in the Alpujarra's is one of those sits you dream about. The region, the lifestyle, the people and the unbelievable stunning vastness of the Sierra Nevada's all combine to give potential sitters an experience they will treasure forever. These attractions, and so much more keep us heading back. As house owners, Taffy and Sean are genuinely friendly, hospitable and so very helpful. In introducing us to their region and to their circle of friends, it provided such an easy and pleasurable transition into an area we had never been before been to before. We can not sing the praises of Taffy and Sean and the beautiful Alpujarras enough. As we said - this is the dream sit and we will be back.
