About this sitter
Fit, healthy New Zealanders with a passion for experiencing other cultures. Married for 39 years, we are a professional couple with extensive travel experience, now semi-retired. Greg is an engineer consulting to major NZ corporate companies and contractors in electricity, rail, motorways, construction and electricity transmission.
Bev was a recruitment manager for a private tertiary education institute for students of fashion design and recently graduated with a degree. She's now in part time admin roles. Our two adult daughters are in England and Australia. We are content with almost any level of comfort in a house-sit and animal care obligations and are super-adaptable! We've completed 16 house-sits over the last 13 years.

We like to see the world but not as tourists. We prefer to base ourselves in one place for weeks at a time so we can immerse ourselves in the daily life of your community - shopping at the local market place, eating in neighbourhood cafes, leisurely day trips to nearby places, making friends and taking walks in the countryside. We miss our dogs and cats so any pets are a privilege. We enjoy providing you a quality service to you and your pets, we respect your confidence in us, we earn your excellent references for us and we enjoy the happy looks on your faces when you return to your clean, tidy home and precious happy pets.

What can they bring to the assignment
Bev enjoys mowing lawns and looking after herb and flower gardens. She also loves looking after the inside of your house, keeping it clean, tidy and looking homely and welcoming. Greg does all the serious gardening and maintenance like landscaping, pruning, digging, home renovations and repairs. As a competent handyman, he can fix most things and what he can't fix, he can arrange to be repaired. We take responsibility for your house, reporting any issues and dealing with them as you direct.
Our experience with pets includes domestic and rescue pets and farm animals and we like to think we're amateur animal whisperers! We love getting to know their personalities and caring for them so they barely notice the change of humans in the house.
We both have full clean drivers' licences and Greg also has motor-bike and truck licences. We store or redirect mail if required and keep you informed about your house and pets while you’re away by email, Zoom or WhatsApp. We will enjoy a peaceful co-existence with your neighbours and may become friends. We are a quiet couple not requiring loud music nor a boisterous night-life to make us happy. We are equally at home in rural settings and in the city. A huge recommendation from us. Greg and Bev were communicative, friendly and demonstrated such love and care to our Ralphie. Ralph is recovering from a surgery and they were great. They administered drugs, took care of “lick mitigation” with applying his cone and took him on very short leaded walks. In addition they apply massages! You’re welcome back!

The highest recommendation possible
As soon as we first made contact with Bev and Greg on our ‘get to know each other’ WhatsApp video-call, we knew that they were going to be good. They more than lived up to our expectations! Once we had booked them some 4 months before they were due to sit, communication with them during the period leading up to the sit was easy despite the fact that they live on the other side of the world from us. This meant that by the time they arrived on the day before they were due to sit, we felt that we had got to know them quite well. We had an excellent time with them before we left and thoroughly enjoyed showing them around our small town and giving them suggestions as to which local attractions they might visit. They even washed up for us after we had had supper together on the evening before we left. They were absolutely committed to looking after Tilly as the focus for their visit and they did this so well. Tilly received her daily brush which she still didn’t enjoy but she obviously bonded with them both almost immediately. In fact, she was brushed so well, we think that she looked slimmer on our return than she had looked when we left! They kept sending us photos of Tilly whilst we were away and that gave us huge comfort and it was obvious that Tilly was completely relaxed with them. Whilst they were unable to stay until we had got home, they did stay long enough for Tilly not to be left too long on her own before our return. Tilly looked amazing when we returned and was very relaxed. What’s more, the house was sparkling clean on our return with all the sheets and towels which they had used washed and dried. We have no hesitation in giving Bev and Greg the highest recommendation possible.

They are also a charming couple
Bev and Greg looked after Basil (14+ yrs) and Dill (4) for about a week. Basil in particular was in fine fettle on our return and they had obviously taken special care of him, as an old dog. They kept us fully posted as to what they were doing each day and we felt we had left the dogs with the best people. The house was immaculate too. They are also a charming couple, by the way!

Greg and Bev were great dog and house sitters. The dogs were relaxed, well exercised and happy when we returned. The house was in great shape, clean and tidy. Greg and Bev sent through regular photos and updates about the dogs which was really welcome as we had been away for some time. We highly recommend Greg and Bev dogsitters - they're reliable, trustworthy, great with dogs and made us smile with the dry humour in our daily whatsapp updates about the dogs latest adventures!

Wonderful Housesitters
We can only add to additional accolades to other homeowners regrding our experience with Greg and Bev. From our very first contact they were professional and caring. Our cats, Enzo and Zoe were lovingly cared for, and our house was in even better shape than we left it! Greg had even fixed a drain while we gone, and straightened out a light fixture by the pool. We would gladly arrange a future getaway around their availabilty. They are simply the ideal pet/house sitters you could ask for.

Greg and Bev were fabulous house sitters
Greg and Bev were fabulous house sitters for ourselves and our two cats--definitely among the best we've ever had (and we use this site quite a bit!) They are very organised and professional, but also very easy going and friendly. I instantly felt at ease showing them around. Greg and Bev seemed concerned about getting all the details of our instructions right, and our cats took to them immediately. During the sit, they kept in regular contact with us and were very responsive to our communication with them. It was nice to have regular updates and photos to hear that everything was well. When we returned, the house was definitely in better shape than we'd left it--it looked like it does after our professional cleaners have finished. The cats were very relaxed (and probably a bit disappointed that we'd returned home--I think they received more attention from Greg and Bev than they usually do from us!) They managed to keep our plants alive outside despite record heat waves (again, probably better than I would have managed!) All in all, I would highly recommend Greg and Bev--you won't be disappointed!

Greg and Bev are the most delightful couple
Greg and Bev are the most delightful couple. THey arrived and immediately we felt comfortable that our dogs and cat were in very good hands. Our cat is 19 years old and has some medical issues and they coped admirably with her. They took care of the house brilliantly and 'fixed' the broken irrigation pipe, twice, as my dogs managed to cause it to break. I can honestly say that if they felt like coming a k again next year we'd be delighted. And we are thinking of going to Australia and New Zealand and will definitely go and visit them.

Outstanding
Bev and Greg looked after our small dog and our home in Laos for 7 weeks. If I could give them a 6 for the categories we certainly would. Bev and Greg were exceptional housesitters in every way. Friendly and flexible and completely adaptable. We had very frequent updates from them and we were completely confident in their ability to handle anything. We came home to a happy and contented pooch, and our house in better condition than when we left! Lao can be a challenging place to live on occasion - they embraced this completely and enjoyed the fun and chaos that can sometimes be so present. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for an entirely reliable and trustworthy housesitter - they are outstanding!

Accept them immediately
While we have had twelve other very wonderful pet sitters over the past three years, Bev and Greg are most probably the ABSOLUTE BEST of them all! Their bonding with our two dogs and two cats started literally as soon as they entered the house, and even amid the chaos of our four excited pets they remained calm and unruffled. Many notes were taken as we went through the routine of the household and pets, and it was obvious that they took them all to heart and did a great job over three weeks of maintaining our house and pet routines just as we would have (maybe even better as the daily brushing of cats and dogs had their coats silky and shining when we returned home! :) Greg also kindly repaired a few things on our house & truck for us. Plus our truck that they used was absolutely gleaming when we came home (we weren't sure it was actually OUR truck!) and our house was immaculately clean as well. We had the good fortune to spend a full day with Bev and Greg both before we left and upon our return. We had such a good time getting to know them both and enjoyed several fun meals together, including the two delicious ones that Bev had prepared for our return. What we can definitively say about this terrific, kind couple is that they could not possibly have done a better, more confidence inspiring job than they did for our pets, our home, or us! We are definitely sad that they are gone, but look forward to seeing them again someday in the not too distant future in NZ! THANK YOU Greg and Bev for being such lovely new friends to us and to our pets. You get our TEN STAR rating (Five star times two...for house & truck and pet care)!!! We would be so pleased to offer a personal reference to anyone considering "hiring" this couple and will flat out state that you really would be quite foolish not to accept them immediately if they do offer to care for your home and fur family :)

I cannot rave enough about how fabulous Bev and Greg are
I cannot rave enough about how fabulous Bev and Greg are! Not only were my two cats thoroughly spoiled and cared for, my house was immaculately kept as well. Our contact before the stay was super easy and while I was away I received lots of updates about my lovely boys - meaning I only had to miss them, not worry about them. The boys are so relaxed and happy - a far less stressful option than taking them to family to stay or having someone pop in occasionally. My cats and I would welcome Bev and Greg back with open arms and highly recommend them as pet and housesitters!

A lovely couple
what can I say, we could have searched the World and not come up with a better couple to look after our menagerie, Bev and Greg were absolutely superb under what can only be called 'Trying' circumstances. Not only did they bond extremely well with the three dogs and 'Seven' cats (including two kittens)plus sundry foul, they kept us up to date with daily events via emails and photo's. They coped with blockages, floods, car breakdown and various other crisies. On our return from a gruelling 33 hour journey they had the home looking immaculate and a meal prepared. The animals clearly loved them, a real bonus for us. A lovely couple who lived the difficult life of expats in an isolated French hamlet in Northern France. We wish them all the very best for them and their family as they continue their adventure.
