About this sitter
My husband and I are a quiet, responsible, 50-something Canadian couple. We have had the freedom and means to call many countries home, including Canada, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkey, South Africa, Jamaica, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico and Indonesia.
We both work online and travel extensively for work and pleasure. House sitting is ideal for us, as we are able to experience different cultures as local residents, and as animal lovers we also have the added pleasure of caring for pets.
We do not have a lot of criteria for a house sit. We have just had the most wonderful experiences with lovely pets and wildlife, beautiful cities, rustic cabins in the middle of nowhere, and wonderful, helpful locals and expats.
Why they want to house sit
We both work online, and we love the company of animals while doing so, so all we need is good internet service and a warm pet (or several) to keep us happy. Otherwise, we're very self-sufficient, so we're just as happy to move to a rural setting as a city. We just need new adventures, and we can find them anywhere.
We have shared our lives with many animals: from horses to dogs, to cats, to ducks to chickens, to guinea fowl and sheep. The hardest part about the end of our house-sitting assignment will be saying goodbye to your animals.

We are experienced house sitters, who have taken care of homes and pets in city and rural environments for over 8 years. We have received five stars for all of our 50+ sits. From off-grid solar living with only water access in the rain forest to ocean front condo life in metropolitan areas to mountain chalets with extensive power outages and an hour's drive from grocery stores, we have done it all.

We are great with animals and have had the pleasure of sharing our lives with many pets, including those that fly, run and swim. (Please see our list.)
Thomas and I are handy. We have owned and built many homes and farms in South Africa and Canada, and we are well versed in home maintenance in both warm and cool climates.
We are clean, tidy and house proud, and would take care of your home and garden as if they were our own.
We have wonderful character references, including one from the Costa Rican Ambassador to Panama, and the Panamanian Consul General in Toronto.

Sheron and Thomas were such wonderful house and petsitters for our cat Monty! They cared for him for over a week and we certainly came home to a happy cat. Our home was also left in great shape. Thomas and Sheron were very easy to communicate with and flexible with planning. They provided regular updates and photos of Monty, and they were self sufficient with the apartment and understanding when we were out of range. Outstanding Pet Sitters and Wonderful People
I cannot recommend Sheron and Thomas highly enough! They are truly amazing pet sitters and genuinely wonderful people. From start to finish, their care for my cats and my home exceeded all expectations, and I would absolutely have them pet sit again without a moment's hesitation. One of the things that truly set them apart was their incredible photography skills. I loved receiving hilarious updates and photos of my cats throughout their stay. Sheron and Thomas were incredible cat sitters. They were thoughtful, caring, organised and sent amazing pictures and videos of our boys. They clearly spent time getting to know them, playing with them and we could tell they were calm and settled when we got home. The apartment was spotless, and their communication was more than we could have asked. We could genuinely tell they cared about our cats and we are hoping they will come back and sit for us again!

Sheron and Thomas Testimonial for Tokyo stay Dec 2024 - Jan 2025
It was a real pleasure having Sheron and Thomas stay in my flat for a six-week period. They were very prompt and efficient in communication about any bills or letters etc. that appeared, they kept my plants alive and flourishing and left the apartment tidier than it was when I left it! They also instigated some small but useful innovations. We never met, but had a couple of zoom discussions before they came, and I left video instructions on how to operate appliances etc. which have Japanese instructions. All in all it was a pleasure having them stay in the flat, and made me able to relax and concentrate on what I needed to do in the UK, knowing that things were under control. I would highly recommend them as very reliable, efficient and friendly house sitters.They even left food for me on my return and made sure all the bed linen was clean and ready for me too.

I recently had the pleasure of having Sheron and Thomas take care of my home and two cats while I was away. From the moment we started to talk, it was clear that Sheron and Thomas were highly organized and capable of taking care of my cats and home. They asked great questions about the cats which put me at ease. Upon returning, I found my home very clean. My cats, who are very nervous about different people were happy, relaxed, and clearly well taken care of. It was evident that Sheron and Thomas spent quality time with Bellatrix and Luna. In addition to taking excellent care of my cats, they kept me updated with regular messages and photos, ensuring I could enjoy my time away without any worries. They are the best
If Sheron and Thomas ever apply to you house sit, reply immediately! They are the best. Taiwan had a massive earthquake when they were at our house but they were able to comfort our pets and make them feel safe. Our kitties can be very nervous after an earthquake but Thomas and Sheron were able to make them comfortable right away. This was the 2nd part of a two-part house sit. They watched out kitties for a week, we returned home for a few days, then they returned for another week. I wish they could return for every sit! They are amazing. They are professionals who went above and beyond with cleaning, taking care of our animals, and sending us cat photos. They are a very responsible and thoughtful couple who will do a great job looking after your house and pets. Amazing cat and housesitters
Sheron and Thomas were amazing cat and housesitters! I'd highly recommend them for any house sit as they are absolute pros! They brought toys for the cats and quickly bonded with them. They sent us photos and videos nearly every day, so we wouldn't miss our babies too much. I could tell our cats were very happy. Thomas and Sheron left our house extremely clean! It looked like a cleaning crew came in and did a deep clean on our apartment! Before arrival, they kept in touch with texts and gave us updates on their travels so we didn't worry about anything. They went above and beyond in so many areas, from communication to cat love to cleaning. If they apply for your housesit, sign them up right away!

Such a nice couple. Truly they were perfect. They lavished our old kitty with attention....so much so that I'm sure he misses them. I don't even know where to begin with just how amazing Sheron and Thomas are. From the minute they arrived they were attentive and focused on how to care for the house and kitties. They gave us daily updates that helped us know the cats were in great hands. When we got back, the house was immaculately clean, gardens we're in amazing shape, cats were happy and they even printed a few pictures of the cats they took while here. We highly recommend this power team
Sheron and Thomas were the first applicants and from our first video chat we knew they were the perfect pet sitters for our boy, Disco. We felt at ease and listened to our gut instinct by accepting their application immediately. Disco warmed to both of them instantly and we knew that we made the right decision. We returned after 8 weeks to a healthy, happy cat and well looked after home. In fact Thomas kindly made much needed adjustments to our home and took care of our pool so well I have never seen it glisten and sparkle the way it does! I truly hope I can continue the upkeep. We highly recommend this power team, who are welcome to return at any time. Honestly I was quite worried Disco would miss them more than us because he was so well taken care of. Highly recommend
This was my first long trip since the pandemic and I was so lucky to find Sheron and Thomas. They were accommodating from the beginning, arriving a little earlier to get to know the cats and their routine. They also took great care of the kitten who got sick suddenly and had to go to the vet every week. Thankful for everything and highly recommend :)

Thomas and Sheron were fantastic cat-sitters. They had even prepared some toys for my cat. They kindly sent a picture of him everyday knowing my cat mama heart would be melt. My (silly) cat looked very happy and super comfortable around them. They also took fantastic care of my plants and the whole flat which looked even cleaner than when I left. Accept them ASAP
If you are considering Sheron and Thomas for a housesitter then look no further!! Accept them ASAP! I don't even know where to begin as every little bit about them is perfect! Upon first meeting them we immediately warmed up to them and knew right away our dogs would be in great hands. They spent a lot of time going through everything with us and were just absolutely lovely to talk with. They even surprised us with lovely mugs with the dogs pictures, such a thoughtful gift! While we were gone we got updates on them every single day - including pictures and videos. One of our dogs is really shy with other people but they took their time with her and tried to make her feel as comfortable as possible. With time she finally accepted cuddles from them ❤️ Our other dog warmed up to them immediately and they welcomed her into their beds for her regular night time cuddles. Our girls were thoroughly spoiled in the best way possible! Little Lola even looked quite sad after we got home, clearly missing Sheron and Thomas already! We came home to a super clean home and lots of little things fixed around the house. Thomas fixed a light we never got to use and now we get to enjoy it, he fixed my car battery when it was dead, and they updated us on everything that was being fixed at the house by the landlord. Seriously just going above and beyond what we expected! We also came home to the sweetest and spiciest (thanks for the BEST hot sauce ever!) gifts to welcome us home and celebrate our engagement. They are just so incredibly thoughtful in every single way. If I could have them house sit for us every time I'd pick them in a heartbeat! Seriously look no further and pick them! Welcome here anytime
From the first moment I spoke to Sheron and Thomas over the phone I knew I would be leaving my fur babies in excellent, capable hands. It was so streamlined arranging the details of the sit and doing the handover. When we met in person Sheron and Thomas were so attentive to understanding each cats preferences, needs and characters down to the meal times. They never felt like strangers in my home as they both have such a warm and natural energy and on top of it incredible experience taking care of pets. I knew they would have fun with Thomas array of kitty toys and his natural ‘kitty whisperer’ abilities. I loved receiving all the regular updates, wonderful photos and to see everyone having such a good time. I came home to very happy kitties, gorgeous surprise photo gifts and a clean house and even some cheeky treats (I’d hoped you’d take the Tim Tams with you!!!! Couldn't have asked for better sitters
This was our first time getting house sitters so we were a little concerned about the process. With Sheron and Thomas we had absolutely nothing to worry about. They are some of the nicest people we've met and have a ton of experience house-sitting, so we new our cat was in capable hands. Snag Thomas and Sheron
Sheron and Thomas came to our Paris apartment to take care of our cat during a recent July week. We were able to meet beforehand, which certainly put everyone at particular ease. This couple is simply wonderful. They are interesting, caring, extremely conscientious, and they left us an immaculate house on our return. There were even goodies awaiting us after a long and stressful return trip! Sheron treated us to regular photos and news, which showed that our cat clearly adored them.
