About this sitter
I currently work online in transcription and translation and I house-sit on a regular basis throughout Europe whenever possible. I particularly enjoy being in the countryside for nature and hiking but I also enjoy discovering new cities. I love to travel and I am competent in French and Spanish alongside English. I am available for short or long-term sits and I am open to new projects or experiences.
Why they want to house sit
I house-sit in order to discover different parts of the world as I enjoy travelling and visiting new places and would consider anything ranging from the coast to the countryside and also to the cities in order to experience different cultures and landscapes. I love animals, the outdoors and nature and frequently take walking holidays both at home and in Europe, therefore a remote location would also be considered if in reasonable walking distance from local amenities.
Their experience
I have undertaken many house and pet-sitting assignments in various European countries including Switzerland, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Scotland, Bulgaria and France amongst others. I have also looked after farm animals as well as domestic pets in rural settings in the UK, France and Spain with my family as well as on my own. These assignments were arranged through Mindmyhouse of which I have references.
My experience with animals stems from my own pets previously and through many house-sits which have included fish, rabbits, birds, cats, dogs and also outdoor animals including pigs, chickens/ducks, bees, donkeys, goats and sheep.

The perfect companion for a shy cat!
Jo is an experienced house sitter and is a calm and quiet person, which was just what we were looking for to look after our ultra shy cat. Toffee cat was horrified at first (normal behaviour with people she doesn't know) but once Jo arrived and we spent some time with her I knew that things would change. By the time we got home, Toffee and Jo were friends. This only happens when Toffee is able to decide for herself, which can't be rushed or forced... well done Jo! And, please come again!

Totally recommended house sitter!
As my first experience using this website i didn't know what to expect, but Joanna was super patient and chill with all my questions. She stayed for about 2 weeks. Great communication pre-booking, and daily update with kittens pics were very much appreciated! Appart from personally being an extremely lovely person, she left the house in great condition, clean and tidy. I wouldn't hesitate to ask her again to house sit! Highly recommended
Joanne looked after my kittie and after my unit for about 3 weeks, whilst I visited a friend in Australia. She really gave me a good feeling about everything, hence I could enjoy my time abroad. She kept me updated and had build a close connection to my cat. !st time house
Joanne came to our home in September for 1 month to care for our dog. From the first moment we met Joanne we knew we had chosen someone who would make our first home sitter experience an effortless and stress free encounter. She never complained when on the first day our heating system failed and it would not function for the duration of her stay. She became well known to the locals who have spoken about her interest in the local community, the history etc of our small village. Every time we made contact to check if she needed anything the response was always reassuring. We had a most enjoyable holiday and it was thanks to Joanne for making it so. Couldn't wish for better house-sitter
Hello, My name is Katya wheble, Firstly would like to thank you for helping me find the best House sitter while myself and my husband fulfilled one of our dreams to walk the Camino in France and Spain... Wanted to share our experience with you, and write out our testimony The lady that came to mind our house for nearly 3 months Joanne Simpson. The very first time we met Joanne I knew we could go away and enjoy our holiday without worries, we gave her the responsibility to run our B&B guests house, cleaning rooms, register and host the guests , In her presence we had 10 out of 10 reviews from our guests for Joanne's service. And everything involving with gardening , looking after two dogs of which one need it special care as it was 15 years old , two cats . She managed all this so Brilliantly, without any problems, She was great of taking her own initiatives and solving out the tasks and responsibilities up to best standards. Peace of Mind
Joanne looked after our cat (Bella), dog (Tilly), house and plants for two months in late summer/early Autumn 2021. Bella and Tilly took to her instantly, and they are very good judges of character. Joanne has a calm and engaging personality, which helped ensure that the handover went smoothly. When I returned, the animals were happy, healthy and relaxed, the house had been well looked after, and my many plants in containers were still alive and kicking. Our sit is not without its quirks and challenges, but Joanne took these in her stride. Best of all, I enjoyed real peace of mind while I was away, something which has not always been the case with previous sitters. We would heartily recommend Joanne to other home/pet owners, and would welcome her back for future sits.

Joanne, has been the perfect person to look after my spoilt and fat cat. She has been very good not to indulge with food even if, I'm absolutely sure, Midori asked for more and more... She gave me immediately the feeling of trust you need to have when leaving your pet in new hands. After introducing her to few friends of mine and some lovely places around my hometown, she was completely indipendent and adventurous, exploring the nearby Garda Lake and Venice (not so crowded yet!). Caring in Oslo - Maximus and Mel
Joanne is a very nice and kind person. Very calm and careful with my dogs. The dogs showed clearly that she was lovely with them during her stay. She has sent pictures, walked them every day, and also taken care of my apartment during my leave. Would surely have her here again :) Thanks Joanne.

Looking after Gala in Dublin
Joanne was our cat sitter during Christmas time. She is very friendly and did a wonderful job taking care of Gala. When she left the house was very tidied up and super clean. We hope to meet her again for the next holidays! We highly recommend her has Catsitter and as a person to speak with.

One week’s cat sitting in Copenhagen
Joanne and her daughter looked after my cats for a week in June and everything went well. They were very friendly and I came home to a clean and tidy flat, and my cats looked calm and satisfied. They sent me messages while I was on holiday to let me know that the cats were fine.

Caring family
Joanne and her family house and dog sat for us during the summer school break. They were very caring with our 3 dogs and made sure that our garden looked good after the scorching summer days...We had the chance to share some meals with them and all of us, children included, enjoyed their company.
