About this sitter
Retired husband and wife, Peter as a Professional Engineer and Julie a Travel Consultant. We are both from New Zealand and have lived in the U.S. the Middle East and Australia. We have travelled extensively and live in Queensland, Australia. We previously owned a 42’ catamaran and lived aboard for five cruising seasons in Florida and the Bahamas. We are pet lovers and have owned many cats over the 40+ years we have been married and know the challenges faced by pet owners when they want to travel.
Why they want to house sit
Even though we have travelled extensively, we know there are still many parts of the world we would like to experience, and many we would like to return to. By House Sitting we can indulge in our love of interacting with people, shopping and cooking like the locals and really feeling like we are part of the community.
We have used House Sitters ourselves to mind our beautiful Burmese (now deceased) when we wanted to travel, so we would like to be able to give the same peace of mind to other pet owners.
Their experience
As well as house sitting in Spain, Florida, Australia Canada and France, we have on many occasions fed, cuddled and walked friends pets, watered plants, maintained swimming pools and performed general house and garden maintenance.
What can they bring to the assignment
Peter was raised on a sheep farm, is a Fitter by trade and holds two Engineering degrees. He enjoys maintaining and repairing all those pesky little things that need attention as part of home ownership. Julie is a great cook and a fastidious housekeeper/manager and we will treat your home as carefully as we do ours.

Julie and Peter were 10/10 housesitters. They looked after the house, Peter did some gardening, they both fussed over our puppy Golden Retriever who ignored us when we got back. That's gratitude for you. They were in touch with us when it was needed. It all worked out very well. Their accommodation, in another part of the house, was impeccably clean when they left. It is so nice and reassuring to have responsible people like Peter and Julie, look after your home.

Thank you soooo much Peter and Julie for all of your hard work transforming our estate in France from the tall grasses and overgrown mess of winter...into the beautiful groomed gardens and lawns we and our Holiday Home-stay guests are enjoying now! Also for all of your help putting the Chateau and Manoir to rights after many months of being empty! As the first to arrive in June, you saw are place at it's worst and the transformation you made at our place was incredible! One Happy Cat, Two Happy Cat Owners
Julie and Peter looked after our home and cat for a month in June 2017. All in all a very good experience. Maytag was happy and the house was in order on our return. AND they are a great couple. I sincerely hope our paths cross again.
