We, Trudy and Peter, are from Holland. We stopped in 2005 with our work, sold our house and start to travel. In 2014 we came back in our hometown. It's time for a new chapter in our lives. But, we still have plenty of time to help you out

About this sitter

We are a fit and active, retired, couple living in The Netherlands. Experienced travellers, we enjoy spending time in new places, living like locals. We are tidy and reliable without any children, pets or other commitments. We like short and long term house sit. Around the world and under any climate.

Why they want to house sit

The reason we do this? You have responsibilities, and thus you stand differently in the local community. This is for us an important reason. The essential difference between house sitter and traveller.
We have had house sitters in our own homes; we loved the security in knowing that our home and pets were well cared for in our absents. We desire to offer this level of peace of mind and service to you.

We want to housesit, because it takes us to great places! We meet great people and we get to care for others homes as we do our monument from 1840! We love big cities and small villages in the countryside.
After years of traveling we bought, in 2014, a house in our hometown in The Netherlands. We like it very much, but we lack the stay among other cultures and climates. We can also do long term housesitting assignments. So for us this would be perfect.

Their experience

You have not seen references for a long time. This does not mean we are no longer doing anything or available.

The reason is that we are asked so much by addresses where we have been before that we can't respond to new requests much anymore. Someone we have come to for the 10th time, or who have become friends no longer needs to write a reference. They will be satisfied.

So don't be misled that because there are no more reviews, we would no longer be active. We have grown older, but still just as active.

We already have experience in Curacao, Chile, Spain, Namibia, Surinam, Martinique, Germany, Qatar, Singapore, England, Portugal, Belgium, Ras al-Khaimah, Madeira, France and Tenerife. We took care for animals, houses and other properties like sailing boats. End 2015 we brought een terrain car van Ushuaia in South Argentina to Paramaribo in Surinam. Therefor we crossed the Andes and Amazonas. We stayed for periods of a few days up to six months.

The animals we were responsible for: Terriers like Yorkshire and West Highland, Bengal, Leonberger, Saluki, Newfoundlander, Street cats, rescued dogs, Malthese, Horses, Labrador, British shorthair, Jack Russell, Persian, Dachshunds, Donkey’s, Berner sennen, Shiba Inu’s and: chickens.

What can they bring to the assignment

We are easy-going and honest. Non-smoking and used to live in a remote and crowded areas. We know what it takes to build your house or sailer. We love animals and take our task serious. We speak Dutch, English, German, and can have conversations in Spanish.
We have travelled for ten years over land and stayed an average of six months in the countries. We have sailed two years in the Caribbean with our ship. We know, without any stress, to respond to many situations.

Caring and loving for your animals and house. You can leave without worrying that your house will be in perfect condition when you return. We will communicate with you through either emails, phone calls or text while you are away to give you piece of mind. We have common sense and we are able to fix just about anything if need be.

We no longer put all our experiences on this site. The reason is that we help a number of owners every year. Everyone is satisfied with us and we with them.
