About this sitter
Active, widely travelled, tidy, adventurous, retired, I am seeking short or longer-term housesits anywhere in the world. I have lived and cared for homes and pets on four continents, and welcome challenging locales. I prefer sits of 2 weeks or more unlessbin Portland, OR. No smoking, drugs, or parties. I enjoy being “at home” in a new locale and I enjoy time with pets, which my travels make possible only occasionally.
Why they want to house sit
I love living "local," love animals, and the travel bug never stops biting. Recently retired, I housesit because I love caring for your home and pets and not only the travel--done a lot of that. USA home base is the Pacific NW. I welcome local housesits in the Portland and Seattle areas and elsewhere. My brother is retired in Thailand—love to visit. I enjoy almost all locales, cultures, languages and peoples. Adapting to local customs and languages keeps me feeling young, active, curious and learning.
And sometimes I like to hermit a bit and get cozy in the familiar and known.

Housesitting since the early 2000's, early days with two children and my now “Was”-band. On my own since 2018, I have experience with pets, gardens, landscaping, pools, basic home repair and maintenance, etc. Comfortable and resourceful, having lived for over 20 years in remote or otherwise challenging locales as an international service worker.

Very Thorough and Thoughtful
Liz has done multiple sits for me now and even though each time I have had to make different feeding instructions for the cats (why are they like that!? lol), she handles it like a pro. I got a great feeling from her as soon as we spoke on the phone, and this was followed by meeting her in person before I left so we could go over all the instructions and preferences. The way she listened and asked questions was so appreciated and not only made me feel great about who I was leaving my home and pets to, it indicated to me her true interest in being an awesome house and pet sitter, which she was. My place always feels so good to return to and my cats are really relaxed and happy. She is very reliable and responsible and I am so grateful to know her and have her watch over my home. She is a great gal who I have really enjoyed getting to know!

Leeza was great!
Leeza stayed with our two cats for 11 days while we were away. It is clear that she has done a lot of these kinds of house sits, and so knows her way around the process. She knew what she needed to know, made arrangements to meet with us before we left, and when we returned everything was in great shape. She sent us pictures of our cats while were gone, and even picked up a few groceries for our late-night return. Things could not have gone more smoothly.

Excellent Sit
I was really worried about leaving my home and pet to someone I didn't know (especially with a new pet who hadn't been left before), but I needn't have worried. Liz was wonderful! She was very communicative, respectful of my home, and took great care of my cat. She even had to deal with one accident my cat had on her clothing and she handled that with patience and understanding. I would highly recommend her, and hope that she can sit for me again sometime in the future.

Exceptional!
I was really worried about leaving my home and pets to a “stranger”. I had good reviews from mind my house so I tried it. Several quality people responded, we selected Elizabeth after a coin flip. She was exceptional, really put my mind at ease every step of the way. She advised me how to prepare my pets and home for my departure. The night before I left she met with me to review my needs. She took copious notes and asked leading questions. I felt very comfortable leaving my home and pets in her care. She texted me updates to keep me at ease. When I arrived home the house was cleaner than when I left it. I am very very happy.

Good house-sitting
Liz & Doug took care of our house, garden and 2 dogs for 2 1/2 weeks during August 2018. They communicated well, kept dogs safe and happy, and took good care of the house. No issues at all, and we are grateful for their help during our time away.

Great house sitters
We were very happy with our sitting experience with Doug and Liz. They were quick to learn about our home in the country, with all our special instructions. They took wonderful care of our multiple farm animals, cats, chickens, and 2 very large dogs. Came home to a clean and well cared for home. Liz and Doug also kept in contact with us at all times. We would be happy to have them again.
