About this sitter

Opportunities to interact with wonderful animals, visit a new city and revel in its unique characteristics, and learn the area history and native charm.

Why they want to house sit

During the summer, my adult daughter and I love to see the world. She has learning challenges but is fantastic with animals and adapting to new settings. We gravitate towards volunteer work in the summer with food banks, literacy programs and working at animal shelters wherever the summers take us (Duluth, MN; Seattle, WA, Austin, Texas, Durham, North Carolina) or even our own backyard in Texas. We hope to bring back wonderful memories that we can share with other mom and daughters in similar situations and encourage them to travel and embrace life's opportunities!

Their experience

Sabrina and I house watched for a RN and her husband in Durham in 2017 for 5 weeks during my summer break. We also house sat for a UT Professor and her husband in Austin for 7 days during my spring break 2017. Last year I started a summer camp for special needs students via a federal grant and took off from house sitting. I have owned over 5 homes my entire adult life. We have used Airbnb on multiple occasions and have all positive reviews from each host.

What can they bring to the assignment

We absolutely adore animals. I am also inclined to be religiously clean and organized both at home and in my classroom...a cluttered room can lead to a cluttered mind. Since we have lived near a large metro area, we consistently are aware of maintaining security by locking all doors and looking out for the safety of our neighbors.

Testimonials

Capable Sitter

In March 2017, I found Alexandra and her daughter on Mindmyhouse.com to help sit for our home for a week. This was our very first trying with a house sitter. Alexandra was very nice over the phone and we communicated multiple times before the start of the assignment. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I didn't get to meet her and her daughter in person. She took care of our border collie dog and kept an eye on my aging mom. She was able to overcome language barrier with my mom and somehow able to monitor her and make sure she was okay throughout the stay. We are very grateful for her help. I think she is a quite capable and responsible person for the job.
