Hello Home and Pet Owner!!
My name is Lysa (pronouned Lee-sa) and I am a mature, 60 year old U.S. citizen.
I am a Keynote Speaker, Workshop Facilitator, Author, and travel fanatic that to date has traveled to 45 of the U.S. states, as well as to numerous destinations in Canada, México, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, Jamaica, Tobago, Bermuda, the USVI, the BVI, the Bahamas, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico, Belize, France, Italy, Spain, and Sweden (and that list is growing!).
I was also a travel writer for over 25 years, writing on a wide variety of topics for numerous print and online publications, and in 2018 I published my first book (and I’m working on the next one!).
Why they want to house sit
Because of my career path, I like to stay put in a location for extended periods of time and regard housesitting not as a means “just to get free lodging,” rather as an incredible opportunity to learn more about and soak in the local ambiance and live like a local.
Their experience
I speak fluent Spanish and am conversational in Swedish (that 3 months in Sweden was fantastic!), and am also a non-smoker/drinker, vegan, very neat, organized, quiet, reliable, trustworthy, self-sufficient, and a former triathlete and aerobics instructor.
I have owned dogs in the past and in some ways now I’m like a grandmother (or Nana, Gigi, G-Mom, or whatever you prefer): I come over, love and spoil and kiss the fur kiddos up, then when their parents get home, I hand them over and get on my way!
Outside of the regular routines and mealtimes detailed by the homeowner, fur baby-sitting is just like caring for an infant or toddler who can’t speak. You have to watch for a lot of visual cues when it comes to their unique quirks like coughs, scratching, barking/meowing, following you everywhere you move in the house, and so forth.
But along the way I get to love on and enjoy some of the cutest, funniest, sometimes sneaky, and loveable fur babies one can imagine!
What can they bring to the assignment
Although I have stayed at the residences of many friends and relatives to help care for their homes and/or pets in their absence, my long-held dream came to fruition in 2019 when, after the last child left the nest, I sold almost everything I owned and now travel the world as a home-free, vehicle-free Digital Nomad. And it has been the greatest adventure of my life!

What a great experience!!!
Having Lysa housesit with our three labs was an amazing experience while we were in Hawaii for a week! Her communication with us was second to none, from schedule, to prepping for arrival, to arrival - there is no one better. We tried to be prepared and organized but she still was able to ask the questions we missed. For this only being the second time doing this, I was nervous but she was able to talk us through it and reassured us that this would be a good experience - this part she was wrong - it was a GREAT experience! We got meet an amazing person who took great care of our pets (sent us photos for my 6yo to know they were missing her) and we really hope to get to use her again in the near future. I hate to let the secret out - if you do not consider Lysa to watch your pets and house - you are missing out on a great experience. Thank you for everything Lysa!!

Warm, reliable, helpful, resourceful house and pet sitter
Lysa watched over our house for four weeks recently and our elderly dog for part of that time. We have used Lysa previously as well, and she is wonderful. She lovingly cares for our pet and takes exceptional care of our home, leaving it sparkling. Additionally she handled our mail, watered the garden, and was a troubleshooter with a plumbing issue while we were gone. AND she had dinner waiting for us after a long drive home. Lysa is kind and thoughtful and an optimistic presence in our home. 5 stars. I would highly recommend her for house sitting and pet care.

Housesitter Extraordinaire!
Lysa housesat for us for 5 weeks through a very stressful time in our lives. She was professional, reliable, kind, flexible, generous, tidy, honest, and most of all, she loved our pets so much that we felt no guilt whatsoever leaving them in her completely competent care. They loved her back! We had planned a month long trip to Ecuador, followed by a week in Mexico. Then a vacation house sale fell through, and we decided to move there. We cut short the first trip and went instead to clean the house. Then went to Mexico. Lysa was such a good sport about all our coming and going, and packing, packing, packing. She is so very self sufficient and not only took care of our pets, she also took care of us! She made the impossible possible for us. We can't say enough about how lucky a homeowner would be to have Lysa care for their home and pets in their absence. She's welcome back anytime!

Relax and rest assured, your home and pets are in good hands with Lysa
Lysa is a wonderful pet and house sitter. I would give her five stars! She lovingly cared for our three doggies recently, showing the many ways that she understands their different needs and personalities. She also kept excellent care of our home and left it immaculate. Lysa rolls easily with the punches and often willingly moved outside the "job description", helping whenever she could with a generous heart. She welcomed us home with a "cafe" at our dining room table, featuring a romantic and beautifully prepared dinner for two. Lysa is kind and trustworthy, thoughtful and perceptive. I highly recommend her.

A wonderful house and pet sitter
Lysa was originally expecting to watch our pets and home for a short stay, and then due to the coronavirus, ended up staying months. We were so very blessed to have her watching over our fur babies and caring lovingly for our home while we were away. She did many things we never expected to need, always with a helpful and willing heart. I can't express what it meant being able to count on her again and again to care for our dogs and our home. She was reliable, flexible, and helpful, from helping us with mail to assisting with a rodent problem! Always with a sense of humor and a good heart. Who could ask for more. She was super and I would highly recommend her.

My two large dogs and I loved having Lysa here. Her care was excellent and we all responded to her warmth and presence. Lysa offered to take and retrieve me from the airport and had a beautiful meal waiting when we got home. My home was as I left it and I feel I have made a lovely friend I can count on to take care of my dogs again in the future. There was absolutely nothing to improve - I highly recommend her.

Wonderful doggie mom!
Lisa was a such a loving caregiver for Jefferson and Truman; I could tell they had bonded when the dogs went back and forth between us and her! We got updates from the homefront and some great photos. And, everything was so spectacularly in order in the house that I was sure she had left it cleaner than when we left. Lysa did a nice job for me
Lysa recently stayed in my home for a few nights, taking good care of my two dogs and houseplants. She's a walker and so they got some good exercise-- I think the pups much appreciated the walks and companionship. Lysa is friendly, mature, and conscientious, and she inspires trust that home and dogs will be well taken care of. She provided good companionship for my dogs and left the house in fine shape, and she was quick to reply to my texts, all appreciated. I would recommend Lysa.

Excellent Pet-House Sitter
Lysa did an amazing job of Pet-Housesitting for our two Pomeranians. We left specific instructions for feeding, medications, walking the Fur Kids, a few chores for the pool and watering plants. She texted us pictures of Spike and Pixie and we felt completely comfortable leaving her to care for our Pets and home. She took us to the airport and picked us up, which was not a requirement. Very nice for her to do that. When we came home the house was the same as when we left. She had printed out a welcome home sign with a picture of our Fur Kids. She also prepared a wonderful dinner, again totally on her own. She is a delightful and very interesting person. I would have Lysa again to Pet-Housesit. If you are looking for a reliable, trustworthy, person to Pet-Housesit I highly recommend Lysa. You will love her as much as we did.
