About this sitter

Joan and Bill are active early retirees, originally from Michigan but moved to Scottsdale, AZ forty years ago. We have lived in France and Brazil, plus the U.S. states of Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and Arizona.

We absolutely love animals; we love life; we love to travel; and we love new adventures. We are clean, responsible, honest, and friendly. We own our own home and had a wonderful Havanese dog by the name of Picasso for almost fourteen years until he recently passed away. He was our best friend and we miss him. We are waiting patiently for a new puppy, but we are fourteenth down the list with our favorite breeder so it will be two or three litters more before we get a new pal.

Bill and Joan met while in school in Ann Arbor. After graduation, Joan was a teacher and the owner of several businesses. Bill was in sales, was a commercial Realtor, then was a concert promoter/producer for the next 30 years. We have owned several nationally acclaimed theaters/venues in the Phoenix area.

As far as what we are looking for in a house sit.....we require a clean house ....and you will certainly find it totally clean when you return. Good wi-fi is an absolute must as we spend a good part of the day at home on our laptops. Good instructions pertaining to your pet(s) are very helpful and important.

Why they want to house sit

Bottom line is that we house/pet sit for the fun...and joy...of it. We love animals and we love to travel. We have had pets all our lives and sitting allows us to travel and get our puppy or kitty fix all at the same time. Let's face it......this website has also created a great way for both homeowners and sitters to enjoy travel at a reasonable cost. We don't have to pay high hotel rates and you don't have to put your pets in an impersonal kennel for exorbitant dollars. We put our dog in a kennel once and it was not the personal, friendly or happy experience that we had hoped for him.

We have cared for pets all of our lives. You can find a recent testimonial below plus we can furnish other references from other websites. We have completed lengthy house/dog sits in London England; Wake Forest,North Carolina; Ann Arbor, Michigan; Sturgeon Bay, WI; Phoenix, AZ, several in California and others. Pets included dogs, cats, fish, turtles, and even a boa constrictor. All owners were very pleased. We have several more sits coming up in the next few months in Napa and a suburb of Paris France.

We have owned many homes and commercial properties of our own and are experienced in remodeling both residential and commercial real estate. While we are not looking to do a remodel for you, we do have an understanding of construction and can often diagnose household problems quickly should an issue arise while you are away. We understand pools and their operation; air conditioning systems, and general gardening. We give you peace of mind.

More importantly, we are experienced in taking care of pets, cleaning and primping our new friends, administering medicine as required, and generally are patient, kind, and loving with all pets.

What can they bring to the assignment

With Bill and Joan, you get maturity, honesty, cleanliness, and a couple who love life. We are non-smokers and don't have parties in our clients' homes. We spend a lot of time at home on the computer while the market is open during the day and promise that we will keep your animals happy and engaged much more than the average sitter.

If you need a ride to and/or from the airport, we can help. If you have a special project going on while you are gone, we can supervise. We will take care of the mail and make sure the house is secure if we go out to dinner.

You won't have to worry about a thing while you are gone, except to enjoy your time away. We will keep you updated every few days by email, Skype, or WhatsApp with pictures. You will be welcomed home to a clean house and a happy pet.
