About this sitter
We are Klára (43) and Filip (45) and we have grown to just love house-sitting.
Our lives (Klára being a translator, Filip a PM in a big exhibition company) are pretty busy all year round and we decided to search retreat more often during the year. Because we live in Prague, we prefer to leave for countryside sites, smaller cities and the like (although we do not exclude biggish cities from our pool of options).
We are more than happy to look after any animals; we have huge experience with cats (Klára has been involved with a local cat shelter for app. 8 years, and we have one (tom-)cat at home), some experience with rodents (hamsters and guinea-pigs we both kept at home as kids) and we have also had the pleasure of two dog-sitting pieces of experience (a 14-year-old male labrador; 6-year and 8-year labradors) in two of our house-sits.
PLEASE NOTE: Given that we have our own senior tomcat who is becoming more and more dependent on us, we prefer shorter stays at this point of our lives (up to 14 days maximum). We are very grateful to everyone who has got in touch with us (or wishes to do so), but we have to prioritize Geoffrey's well-being now - he is a handicapped foundling who had an apparently rough start to life and we don't want to make his autumn rough, too (although he loves my mother's spa, too). Thank you for your understanding.
Why they want to house sit
What we look for is a place with a homey atmosphere, somewhere calm and "not touristy", which is hard to find in hotels, B&Bs, etc.
More importantly, we LOVE animals and really enjoy the company of them :-) So if we have the opportunity to look after animals while being on holiday, we are more than glad to take it!
Their experience
We've had quite a few house-sitting pieces of experience so far: Christmas 2016 in Sardinia (Italy), Christmas 2017 in Castello Cabiaglio (Varese, Italy), Spring 2018 in Vesonne (France), Summer 2018 in Torino (Italy), Autumn 2018 in Brienzwiler (Switzerland), and summer 2020 near Lausanne (Switzerland). After covid, we had the pleasure to sit twice for the same home-owners in the Swiss town of Winterthur, and several times for the same land-lady in Berlin.
In Sardinia, we house-sat an olive-grove "garden house" with 4 cats (while staying in a holiday suite) of which we took everyday care. That experience is listed on helpx, alongside the owners' (positive) feedback/testimonial if you happen to be a member, too.
In C. Cabiaglio, we took care of four inside-outside cats and the owners' house.
In Vesonne, we looked after a 14-year-old male labrador and an inside-outside cat of roughly the same age (and the owners' house).
In Turin, we looked after two lovely female labradors (6+8, one of whom was a cancer patient on top). Fantastic experience!
In Brienzwiler, there was only the holiday suite to look after but we loved it all the same ;-)
In the little village near Lausanne, we took care of a roof-top cat named Nike, who was very true to her name!
In Winterthur, we looked after a sweet cat lady named Momo and a lovely house in a quiet part of the city.
And in Berlin? A very unique mylady cat named Lana - yes, soft like a wool, but sometimes playing hard to be touched! :-)
What can they bring to the assignment
Reliability, experience, trust, capability to resolve troubles should they arise (having been a PM for over 15 years, Filip is used to troubleshooting all the time!). Klára's petting hands will spoil your cats (or other animals, for that matter) ad infinitum :-)
Apart from Czech, we are both fluent in English, Filip masters French and Spanish on top of that (I do understand and speak French but my knowledge is rusty, Spanish is a language I understand quite well but do not really speak).

Lovely and respectful housesitters
Klára & Filip looked after our house, our cat Momo and our garden for three weeks in the summer of 2022. All the testimonials about them so far are spot on and describe them very well. Klára & Filip are both lovely people and we trusted them immediately. Klára & Filip took care of everything as if it was their own house and cat. Perfect sitters
Klara and Filip are a wonderful, respectful and reliable couple. I felt very comfortable with them right from our first video chat. They made the effort to even arrive one day before scheduled so that we could meet in person. They kept me posted every day and asked if in doubt of anything. When I came back home I found my place even cleaner than I had left it. This made things really easy for me since I was coming back from a short stay in hospital. I am very thankful to have been so lucky to meet them and can only recommend them. Thank you so much!

Wonderful couple for house sitting
Klàra and her partner were fantastic housesitters. They were very easy to communicate with and took fantastic care of my place and my cat. They left everything cleaner than they found it and most importantly my cat was very happy when I came home! If you have the opportunity to have your pets and place looked after by them, do not hesitate! You will be very happy to have them.

Fantastic and very reliable
Klara and Filip were simply the greatest house sitters ever. They are very responsible, very caring, clean, reliable and humble. They took care of our dog while she was going through chemotherapy and we couldn't have been calmer and more comfortable leaving her with them. Even though we never considered it, but we ended up leaving them our car to take dogs to the vet and use it for taking them to the parks . We were completely confident leaving it all in their hands. They left the house spotless, dogs seemed totally happy and content. Thank you so much

Pet sitters
Klara and Filip were fantastic, our pets were very totally relaxed when we got home and the house was immaculate. They both sent informative and reassuring texts and emails with photos throughout their stay. Our dog needs some pills and they were happy to give them to him. Neighbours told us as soon as we got back how friendly they had been and that they had taken very good care of our dog (the cat is less visible) - it is a small village where not much happens!! They also made us feel that they had enjoyed their stay which we appreciated. I can't praise them enough and firmly recommend them as pet and house sitters.

Great reliable housesitters, brilliant with cats!
Klára and Filip sitted our house and cats from 22/12/2017 until 8/1/2018. We found them friendly, helpful and honest people with which we share many common interests. They took care of our cats incredibly well. We found our house back totally clean and our cats completely relaxed. During their stay they sent frequent stories and pictures of our little furry babies, which we much appreciated. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed Klára and Filip's care and company and would welcome them back any time!
