About this sitter
For many years I have enjoyed taking care of other people’s dogs, cats, horses, chickens, donkeys, homes and gardens in the US, UK and Canada. I am a non-smoking, non-drinking, clean, quiet, conscientious retired female. I can provide excellent references but I'm not tech savvy so don't know how to attach them here.
Why they want to house sit
Nothing gives me more pleasure than spending my time with animals. Most people? Well, that's another story.
Their experience
My experience with animals includes growing up with dogs and cats, volunteering at no-kill shelters, fostering many dogs, owning my own dog walking business, working for a pet sitting company and even working on a sheep station in Australia for six months (many years ago).
What can they bring to the assignment
I owned and operated a B&B on Capitol Hill in Washington DC for 17 years and after 9/11, when tourists stopped coming to Washington for a while, I turned it into a rental property. So I understand the importance of taking care of homes and keeping them in tip top condition at all times.Your home will be as clean and tidy as you left it and your pets will be relaxed and happy after having been taken care of by me in the most loving way.

The best care
Ann was such a caring, competent, and communicative housecarer for our animals for a week over Christimas. She cared for two dogs and a cat. Right before we left, one of our dogs got sick and required a very complicated medication regiment that was completely beyond the scope of housecaring responsibilities that we had originally arranged with her. Ann took on all the additional duties with great compassion and understanding. We could not be more grateful for Ann's professionalism in taking care of our sick pup so we could continue with our vacation. We received daily reports on how everyone was doing and never had to worry while they were under her care. Ann is a true pro when it comes to understanding and caring for animals!

Ann is a Dream: Fantastic Pet and Home Sitter
I cannot say enough good things about Ann. She arrived the night before her stay was to begin so we were able to give her the lay of the land and see her interact with our furry family members. We had a wonderful time chatting with her over dinner and she's genuinely a delightful person. The dogs immediately warmed up to her and after some wayward glances the cat showed herself. Ann kept us updated while we were away and took great care of our home and pets while we were gone. I was particularly worried about all of our seedlings (we have a very large garden so a loss of the plants would have been tragic) but there was no need to worry. Ann kept up the watering and light schedule and they were flourishing when we got home. I would not hesitate to have Ann sit for us again and hope in the future we can use her again. If you book Ann, you will not be disappointed in the care your home and animals will receive.

Great Experience
Ann’s English wit is charming. Her daily activity reports were thorough, humorous, insightful and very accurate. Take for example, “A prisoner in my own bed”, the title of one of her daily reports that chronicled being held captive by our four English setters who had piled around her on the bed. I don’t think that it was just the English connection, I believe that Ann is just a “dog” person. We got to spend time with Ann before we left and she is fun and very entertaining as well as extremely thorough in her planning. She is welcome back anytime, with or without dog sitting duties.

A gift
Ann farm-sat for us last weekend and she was enthusiastic, dependable, super clean, asked all the right questions, and did an all-round fabulous job with our 2 donkeys and big dog. She had not cared for donkeys before, but she jumped right in like a natural. She has a lot of energy for animals and she's very careful, considerate, and communicative. I highly recommend her. She is quite special and we are grateful to have had her help last weekend.

Ann was a blessing!
With 2 large dogs and the need to travel for over a week, the thought of having to board our fur babies was less than appealing. Ann was an absolute blessing to have answered our ad. Ann is a quiet, thoughtful and lovely individual. She drove from DC to Memphis to help us. She quickly became attached to Gryffin and Bella as we hoped she would. Ann would provide daily updates on how the dogs were doing, what adventures they had and updates on the house when necessary. The house was as clean as when we left and the dogs seemed genuinely happy when we got home. This was our first time using a house/pet sitter. We couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Anyone would be lucky to have Ann watching after their pups! Thank you Ann.

Absolutely the best house/pet sitter you'll find!
Ann house/pet sat for us for a week and we were so happy having her take care of our home and little furry ones. She is the most interesting person--warm, compassionate and friendly with Philly and Leo, our pets. We so very much enjoyed having dinner together the night she arrived, and were able to explain our simple routine with the pets and show her where everything was located. Ann took care to communicate with us while we were away, and sent photos along, as well. We highly recommend her capable services if you're searching for an excellent candidate, she delivers!

Christmas in Chattanooga, Tennessee
Ann was one of the best house- and dog-sitters we've ever had. She kept in close communication throughout our trip, left the house spotless, and was also just a pleasure to be around. (We overlapped by a night both at the beginning and end of the trip, so we got to spend some extra time with her and get to know her a little bit.) In addition to all of the above, Ann really loved our two dogs Boo and Scout. It was clear she had a lot of affection for them both, and that is something you hope for but don't always find. We highly recommend Ann, and would be happy to talk further to anyone considering having her stay at their place and watch their pets.

Responsible, caring dog and house sitter
Ann watched our goldendoodle for us while we went on vacation. She took wonderful care of our dog by taking her on walks and giving her lots of personal attention. Ann gave us updates with photos of their time together. We knew our dog was well taken care of and loved while we were gone! Ann also kept our apartment very neat and tidy, and we came home to a clean place!
