A couple, freelance professionals

About this sitter

We are a couple from Czech republic, fluent in bunch of languages and excited about traveling. We both work online and we're based in an apartment in CZ, so we're not freeloaders nor homeless, moving from place to place.

Daniel:

Having spent the last decade moving and living around various countries within Europe, I have always loved the changing landscape and exploring different cultures. We have always had a dog in our family, so I know the regime, and when I was living in Cyprus, I rescued a kitten who spent the rest of the summer with me, so I'm familiar with cats as well.

Katerina:

Currently I have no animals at home since I travel a lot and I would not have the heart to leave them so often and for such long periods of time, but I am an experienced petsitter. While still working, I have been taking care of several dogs for weeks at a time, from ordinary pets to therapeutic professional dogs. I grew up in a big village house and have been frequently taking care of my family's animals, including chickens or even rabbits. Over the last seven years or so I have gained plenty of experience taking care of animals while house sitting abroad. Travels help me think and taking care of animals helps me relax. Also, I am taking few language exams in the near future, therefore practicing the languages with native speakers is a big plus for me.

Why they want to house sit

We're not looking for jobs, we are happily freelancing online. And since we can do this from anywhere in the world with reasonably fast internet access, this enables us to travel without limits. House sitting is brilliant as it takes care of both paperwork and rent, so we can concentrate on soaking up the local culture.

Their experience

Aside from sitting for friends, we did take care together of a house in Croatia (not through this web), two houses with many pets in Spain during the rainy spring of 2018 and a house with three cats in Germany during the summer. In 2019, we spent two months in UK taking care of cats, horses, peacocks and over hundred sheep, then in the summer one month in Belgium with a lovely cat and two chickens, finishing the year with one month over the holidays in Switzerland with a cat. The pandemic prevented us from traveling for a while but we got back to house sitting in the summer of 2021 -taking care of a cat and an apartment in Italy. In 2023 we took care of an amazing farmhouse in Germany with bighearted dog, donkeys, cats and hens. The same year we stayed for a one summer month in Paris taking care of two cats and in winter 2023/2024 we petsitted two cheeky guinea pig brothers in Helsinky. All great animals, all great experiences for us.

We are okay with showing you our passports/IDs, even letting you write down the information, but not so much with sending photocopies over internet after some bad experience.
We can send you our officially verified criminal records in English (no criminals here). Also happy to discuss and sign a MMH agreement.

What can they bring to the assignment

We're both quite tidy and organized, and we will take care of your property as if it was our own, certainly not party kids, so you can rest easy that your house and animals, if there are any, are taken care of.

Working online means we spend most of the time at home, so don't be surprised when your pets become spoiled and used to being cuddled all day long :)
