About this sitter
Hi! We live in Ireland with our children have flown the nest. We cubbently have 1 cat and honey bees. I have retired from the Civil Service and my wife has taken a years career break from her role as a Classroom Assistant in a special needs school. We own our own house on a half acre site. We grow vegetables and lots of fruit, making our own jams and juices. I also keep bees and extract our own honey while my wife creates balms from the wax. We have two wood burning stoves for which I cut and split the firewood.We are flexible with sitting and would like sits in areas that lend themselves to walking and touring. We enjoy spending time with animals and getting to know their characters. We have not replaced our dog, hens and cat when they died in expectation that we are going to be doing more housesits.
Why they want to house sit
We enjoy visiting new areas and exploring their surroundings. House sitting with animals provides an extra enjoyment as you get to know them and provide for them. It also gives a focus to your day rain or shine.
Their experience
We have completed a 24 day sit in Toscani Italy with 5 dogs at the start of the sit and 6 at the end. We found it an amazing experience. We were slightly aprehensive beforehand but it could not have been more fun. All the dogs stole a piece of our hearts.
I grew up on a farm and am used to handling animals. We have experience with dogs, cats, hens, ducks, geese, cows, goats, sheep, donkeys, horses, pigs, guinea pigs, hamsters and fish.
Having done one housesit with an allotment we found we really enjoyed having some work to do outdoors each day.
What can they bring to the assignment
We both love working outdoors and have kept our own extensive vegetable and fruit gardens for 37 years. We will be able for most outdoor challenges. We built our own house in 1995 and maintain it to a very high standard. We both drive.

Great house and pet sitters

Great sitters
Oliver and Susanna were great house sitters. The animals were all very happy when we got home, hens nice and clean. They thoroughly understood everything we left for them to take care of. Absolutely amazing people
Oliver and Susanne stayed for a weekend with us and they were absolutely amazing with our dogs and with our property. They are truly lovely and reliable. We kept in touch, they were always available, the dogs were delighted to be with them, and when I got home the property looked incredibly clean and tidy. Before I left, I was just mentioning about a garden project I was working in - when I got home, it was fully, professionally done! I was truly amazed. Oliver and Susanne are legends, absolutely recommend them for a housesit and I hope they will be back with us in the future.

April house sit
Oliver and Suzanne housesat for us from april 12-19'th. We were very happy to welcome them into our home and departed for our break knowing both our dogs and house was in very safe hands! They bonded with Harrison and Ruby immediately on arrival. They send us daily updates and we returned to very happy doggies and a very clean house. Happy Home Return
Oliver and Susanne were the perfect couple to mind our home and care for our cats. Besides being most capable and organised, they both had a sense of adventure and embraced the opportunity to experience their surroundings like a local. We returned to a home exactly (if not better!) than we had left it. Every item was in it's proper place, and that includes kitchen utensils, which is not an easy task. I would highly recommend this couple for any situation. They even made friends with my most skittish cats. Thank You, Susanne and Oliver.

Amazing couple and perfect housesitters
Oliver and Suzanne are the nicest couple, well travelled , with lots of experience and stories to tell. They were very flexible with their dates to house sit and we really got on the minute they arrived in Cobh. Oliver and Suzanne took on the task to look after lucky and our allotment to heart. They were so affectionate with lucky and got on so well.They also did an amazing job looking after the chickens and the allotment. They were always in contact letting us know how lucky was getting on and sending photos of the allotment produce while we were away. They look so well after the house and we felt so comforted while we were away enjoying our holidays . If you looking for perfect house sitters that make you so comfortable and are so reliable , look no further . Wonderful couple
Oliver and Suzanne were wonderful sitters as well as houseguests. They had a last minute family matter to face, but despite that, they honoured their commitment and arrived even before schedule which is a testimony to their seriousness and sense of responsibility. They stayed with us about 3 weeks ; during that time I was away for one week so they had the "full" responsibility for the pups which they handled wonderfully. Infact, even after I returned they were always available to help out even beyond their "walking duties", they cuddled the dogs individually and didn't bat an eyelash when I came home one day with our latest family member, a 30+ kilo buddle of puppy-joy. Dogs aside, Oliver and Suzanne were wonderful guests, friendly, discreet, kind, helpful, quiet, never invasive, tidy -- ideal in every way. I would recommend them without the slightest hesitation, and would equally welcome them back should they ever wish to spend some time again in the area.
