Dog(s), Cat(s), Chicken(s), Bird(s), Fish, Rabbit(s), Tortoise/Turtle(s), Guinea pig(s), Rodent(s) – I am willing, and look forward to, care for all animals. Except spiders. I can't say that I'd be particularly loving to a spider (if it's a pet) but I'd make sure it was content.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about me. I am an adventurous, responsible, respectful individual who is looking to explore the world around me and experience new people, places, and cultures. I will care for your home and animals as if they were my own and provide you with the peace of mind knowing that all are cared for and loved.
I consider myself to be an extroverted introvert which means I love meeting and talking with people but I love my quiet, alone time as well. I have no need for the bar scene, the backpacker scene, or any scene requiring loud music and late nights. I enjoy puttering around the kitchen, writing, working in the garden, and walks to explore and admire my surroundings.
I love sharing my area with friends and family and quickly become familiar with new environments to ferret out the hidden gems not found on the tourist scene. I think I would be a good tour guide and I look forward to sharing information with people about an area, a thing to do, or a sight not to be missed.
Animals are a constant companion for me. I have two dogs (GreTchen and Jo-Dee) and a 16-year-old cat, Skittle, who thinks she is the soul being on the planet. When I travel, my roommate takes care of them and I know they are being loved and cared for. I will care for your non-human family as if they were my own so you don’t have to worry about them not getting the attention, walks, and love you lavish on them.
The perfect sits are longer in duration and provide an opportunity for me to explore the area. I am very comfortable with public transit, have an unrestricted U.S. Driving License, am comfortable driving on BOTH sides of the road (dependent upon location, of course!), and I am personable. If your requirements include greeting and taking care of guests, I’m your gal. If you need someone to spoil your animals, just call on me. If you need me to do both, I’m here for you!
I do not believe that COVID-19 is anything to be taken lightly. I am fully vaccinated and practice enhanced precautions for my family, friends, and community.
Occasionally I blog about my travels and anything else that might tickle me. You can see it here: https://starunnersgalaxy.blogspot.com/?fbclid=IwAR0o7Zg8oR8ewAsMQpJDITTMsRAGgZURpGZnjx7mF86Gug6wfU2yA3Y7lMI
When I travel, I strive to experience the area to the fullest and being able to live like a local, even for a short period, will enhance my experience and understanding of my fellow humans. I also know how expensive it is to hire someone to watch your animals and how risky it can be to leave your home unattended. It's a mutually beneficial agreement - you get the peace of mind of having your home and animals loved and cared for and I get the opportunity to throw myself into a new location, culture, and people.
My location, Colorado, does not limit my sit locations. I am willing and able to travel to almost anywhere to provide you the comfort you need to take your vacation or business trip with an easy mind. My home location is not a barrier for me; I hope it won’t cause you to dismiss the uniqueness that I can bring to your home and animals.
For the past 8 years, I have been my parents' house-sitter and pet caregiver. They have three dogs, Ina, Calvin, and Sadie, and I call them my siblings. I also maintain their home while they're away which includes cleaning and daily maintenance. I also take care of their mail, answer their phone and ensure that the house is loved and lived in. While they are my parents, they are very picky with whom they allow to watch their dogs and I've not lost the job yet. :)
In November 2018, I sat for 3 weeks for a family in the UK. I looked after their home, their 2 beautiful cats, and 7 cheeky chickens. My first priority was the care of the animals and any travel/exploration I did fit within the timeframe of looking after the cats and chickens. It was perfect for me.
I have had animals all my life and currently have 2 dogs (GreTchen and Jo-Dee) and 1 cat (Skittle) - they have all been rescues from my local humane society. I believe animals enrich our lives and I can't imagine my home without one or two or three...
My ideal location is where I can putter around the homestead, go on walkabouts, explore the local town or just play in the garden. I enjoy staying in, exploring the neighborhood and learning about what makes your area tick. I am not interested in the typical tourist traps and activities; I want to be where the "real" people are and get to learn everything there is to know. I will bring to you the peace of mind knowing that your home and critters are loved, appreciated and taken care of.
I am a freelance writer so I have the luxury of being able to work from any place as long as I have internet. Because my livelihood depends on it, I would need access to a reliable internet connection.
I look forward to talking with you about your requirements, and I am eager to put your mind to rest – this Colorado gal cannot wait to meet you.

Bethany came for a month in the winter and took excellent care of our house and 2 cats. She is capable and competent in handling unusual or urgent situations. The house was clean and food was waiting for us when we arrived home. She is everything you could ask for in a pet sitter and the cats were obviously loved while we were away.
Bethany took excellent care of our 2 cats and the house. She had some extraordinary circumstances to deal with and she handled these well. An example was when 2 moose came into the yard and under our deck. When we arrived home, she took such good care of us and fed us when we were totally exhausted. I joked about needing her to stay with us. She is a lovely woman who will care for your home and pets competently and carefully.
I first made contact with Bethany via Mind My House months before our sit was due to start. We then proceeded to exchange regular e mails and share information about the areas we lived and our love of animals. (Photographs included) This immediately made me feel reassured I had made a great choice in Bethany. When she arrived I was immediately struck by her warm personality and gentle tenderness towards my precious pets. I felt happy when I left that she would bond with our cats and take great care of our chickens. Once away Bethany provided ample photographic evidence of happy contented pets as our e mail chat continued. On arrival home our house was gleamingly clean. Everything was organised and ship shape. My cat was cuddled up on her lap. (Praise indeed from my sometimes aloof male cat). She had not been scared to get her hands dirty in the chicken coop and she even went to the trouble of making us some yummy Hamburger soup to save us the trouble of cooking. It was a joy to meet Bethany. Her standards of home and pet care were extremely high. I feel I have made a friend across the pond and sincerely hope we will be lucky enough to have Bethany house sit again for us in the not too distant future. (She already has the invite) Grab this house sitter if you get the chance . She won't let you down.
