About this sitter
Dutch hands-on couple, 62 years old-young, recently retired. He: former military and diplomat. She: former paralegal and current cranio-sacral therapist. Both reliable, discrete, welcoming and flexible, healthy, socially and dynamic.
We are looking for house sits somewhere in the countryside no matter where, preferring sunny regions and pleasant temperatures. We love animals, so that is no problemat all, but better no babysitting or childcare.
Why they want to house sit
As we are still young and fit, we like to keep active and explore new surroundings. Providing this service by looking after a house, small animals and do some gardening is a good combination for us and it makes life enjoyable. If some technical issues have to be resolved, we love to be of your assistance.
We can also take care of your B&B, if necessary ....

Outstanding!
I've been leaving my house in the care of house-sitters for at least the last 15 years and over all it's been a very positive experience but this year was outstanding. Nicolaas and Monique were far and away the best house-sitters I've ever had! I returned after a month and a half absence (seven weeks of drought and heatwave) to find the house, garden and cat in wonderful shape. The house spotless; the garden weeded, watered and almost all plants miraculously still alive; and, not least, the cat happy and relaxed. Nicolaas and Monique kept in touch with me, were quick to respond to any questions or requests, were incredibly responsible and treated the house-sit like a real job, not just an opportunity to vacation. In addition, they were both charming, interesting people whom i would have enjoyed getting to know better. I feel very lucky to have had them here. I only wish for their sake that it had not been the hottest summer on record. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

Housesit in Perigord Region, Dordogne
Nico and Monique came to housesit last year at a very difficult time for me. They are absolutely charming, warm and friendly and my cat, Mr Smudge, loved them both from the first few minutes. We all had lots to talk about and they knew instinctively what needed to be done. The house and the cat were in perfect condition when I returned a month later. I have tried to get them back since, but other commitments have prevented this so far. However, I hope very much to see them again this autumn. Their parting gift was to plant a small garden for me with perennial shrubs outside my back door and it was such a surprise when I returned. They come highly recommended.
